ATT claims there is no unusual problem.
Oh don't get me started. That fasted 3g network is bunch of bs too. Yeah it's fast, WHEN YOU CAN ACCESS IT, which is a complete crap shoot.Truth. Nothing unusual about dropped calls with AT&T. It's funny how they put out ads for the network with the fewest dropped calls when they are clearly the worst.
I have a 1st gen. Here in the city, it's AWFUL.Do the calls on the first gen iphone get dropped less often than the 3G versions? My friends with 3G's seem to suffer dropped calls more than me (1st gen)...
Stop whining about AT&T, pony up the $3/min, and go get yourself an INMARSAT phone.
'course, you may have to step outside to use it.

Do they still charge you for minutes if you are using your own network?![]()
Minimum $39.99 post paid wireless voice plan from AT&T required to enroll in optional unlimited talk feature (AT&T Unlimited MicroCell Calling) available for additional monthly charge.
I don't suffer from dropped calls when I'm at home... cuz I can't get an f'n signal in my own house!
The iPhone is the sole reason AT&T is having network issues. Once Verizon gets it, they will start having issues as well. ESPECIALLY when they start migrating towards LTE. They've been on the same exact CDMA network for the last 3-4 years. AT&T has had to update everything every 6 months to support the iPhone and bandwidth issues it's users require.
When they all go to metered data plans, things will get better.
My main gripe these days is with AT&T customer service.

That is the phone number for MetroPCS. Call it. Just try to get a human being on the other end. I dare you.
T-Mobile is a 50/50 crap shoot, UNLESS you can get their $39.99 a month 1000 minute plan and add on unlimited data for $14.95 a month (like me and my wife did).

I call BS. This is an America-only problem. The iPhone is available in Europe, and they seem to be managing it just fine.
And since we're on this subject, I'm not sure if this should go here or in the Fail thread, but AT&T has released an app for the iPhone to report if you have no coverage, to help fill in the gaps where they have no coverage. See if you can find a flaw in this logic...
