so i have to be a best man at some wedding. turns out i have to plan the bachelor party. i need some help for the bachelor party ideas.

the hard part is that my friend is allergic to alcohol, so just getting him drunk is mostly out. also he's not really into strippers.

he had some activities that he loved doing before he met this chick and now he cant do most of the stuff he loves (you know, what typically happens in relationships) so i was thinking of maybe taking him to do things would recreate or simulate his passions again for a day and then maybe cap it off at a bar or club in the city that he likes.

the things he likes are...
roller hockey (i dont think he follows NHL)
cars
car track days
working on cars (i helped him build a j-spec STI before)
remote control cars
stupid video games like warcraft
computers (although he does this for a living so this might be a no go)
snowboarding

also there is a budget as im broke, so while i'd love to take him on a trackday i cant afford to pay for the trackdays for him and i and all the other costs associated with a trackday. also cant go snowboarding as that limits all the stuff that we can do, basically it would only be snowboarding. also, i have to keep in mind that there are other groomsmen so it cant be too boring for them (really they just want strippers).

i was thinking of throwing in kart racing in burlingame as i know that he likes that and that should take care of the car/track stuff.

any other ideas?

I've done the best man thing a few times, Chess. Give me a call if you want to talk ideas.

bondage is out of the question, mike!

ya im not sure if i like having this responsibility. and i also have to write a speech. dammit!

Cart racing, nice steak dinner (all manly and stuff) where the others guys can drink....

Maybe a group IMAX movie before dinner?
Or, go to Hooters. They're not strippers....and, wings!

No movies, thats for after the marriage.

So, back on topic, how about strippers?

This may sound really silly, but my friend Ross and I went, and had a flippin' BALL... it was Dave & Busters. They had video games, ride-on motorcycle racing, EVERYTHING FUN!!! and you run around in that place feeling like you're 20 again! :teeth
Now, that may not seem like a big deal if you're in your 20's, but when you're 40+, lemme tell you what, that's amazing! :laughing
Everyone can get dinner there, get a game card, and play as much or as little as their budget allows. We went for Charlotte's birthday, so there was a big group of us, and everyone had a blast.

I had to throw one for one of my friends. We did a bonfire at the beach and surfed and played poker, the groom took the money home. I made a bunch of food and had tons of snacks. They had a blast and Rick won 250 bucks :)

Do you have a go kart race track? Those are usually pretty cheap for the day.

BLOW and tell him its pixie dust

And everytime you did this, did it make the groom happy?

To everyone else, keep the ideas coming! It looks like i'm stealing an idea or two from most of you.

Remember if you steal Mike Tyson's Tiger, you should return it before he finds out.

P.S. If he likes guns, you can take him shooting.

Going to a gun range is another good option, and likely cheaper for everyone than paintball. Plus you get to take home the targets afterwards as a measure of everyone's manliness. There's one nearish the kart track in burlingame, too.

One of my most enjoyable bachelor parties involved going out to dinner in SF, going to a comedy show, then on to a whisky & cigar bar, and then ended the night buying the groom-to-be a lapdance.

Ooh good one!

That was one of the ones I did. We rented a van in the City, Piled all the guys in. Went to play paintball all day at American Canyon, went all sweaty and fucked up to the Outback Steakhouse in Marin City, ate steak and got sloshed then went to Broadway and Market streets for all the strippers you could vomit on. LOL, good old days...

ya american canyon might be too far. i just looked up paintball and thats the closest one (lame).

im not 100% sure on the gun range as i dont remmeber him being into guns. but he was in the navy so im sure he's fired them before so it might be a good sub for paintball. also its closer.

anyone recommend a gun range in the city (or near the city) that does rentals and is noob friendly?

anyone know if jackson arms is okay for a group of noobs?

anyone know if jackson arms is okay for a group of noobs?

They are. That's where we went for my buddy's bachelor party and there were about 12 noobs and only one experienced shooter. They'll run you through a beginner safety course, but they're good about it and don't treat anyone like an idiot or a child. Safety course will also give you range time with a .22 pistol and (IIRC) 100 rounds. Its a pretty good deal.
