Bad news about Dan Caldwell (Dancore)(7/19/10)

When I started racing at Stockton again, long after most of my friends had stopped, Dan was quick to make sure I felt welcome. He was, like everyone has already said, kind, helpful, friendly and always eager to lend a tool or just have a laugh with you. While circumstances dictated that I wasn't very dedicated to racing at Stockton, it didn't take long for me to develop both an fondness for him, and a great deal of respect.

The world is a better place for him having lived here, and I offer my deepest condolences to Abby and the rest of his surviving family.

Lie light, Dan. be at peace.

Godspeed Dan.. :rose

I am so sad for his wife Abby, family and friends.

Racing makes such good friendships and life long memories.

Great pics harry.. thanks for posting the man in action.

Terrible news! What a shame to lose such a wonderful person. My condolences to his family thank you for sharing him with us, even though I didn't know him that well I will truly miss him.

I just saw this, and even though I haven't seen Dan since Stockton in 2007, I have no words. My condolences to all his loved ones, he was one of the kindest people I've ever raced with. I remember him letting me keep my last lap in my first race as he was winning and I was the last rider on the lead lap, it really meant so much to me that he wouldn't cut my first race short. RIP Dan.

haven't been on BARF for a couple of years, but just heard about Dan the other night...he was a great guy to hang out with and race with...always happy and helping someone out. he will be missed by many...RIP 888

Hmmmm...a little late to catch up on to BARF. However, I realize that if you don't race with SMUSA you probably haven't heard anything about Dan recently. Should anyone want to visit Dan's final resting place you can find it at Oakmont Cemetery in Lafayette, CA. Go to the Walk of Memories and look for the monolith (a large rock) and you will find his resting place, where I hope he rests peacefully.

Also, in memory of Dan, a team has been started for the American Foundation for Suicide Preventions Out of the darkness walk in September. You can find more info here http://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&eventID=1379&teamID=22537

RIP 888

Thanks Lewis. Life goes on, but you don't have to forget. Dan would have given the shirt off his back to help the supermoto crew, and I try to keep that going. Goodness know you have all helped me!

Man, how did I miss this last year? The few trackdays at stockton I did I pitted next to Dan twice... helped me tremendously... Rest in peace man!!
