Barf Baja 2019 live trip and recap

Visited a mission at Santa Gertrudis. A short "out & back" road near El Arco.

Drew, Daniel, & Lance -

The road was fast & fun -

I always enjoy this view -

The landscape seemed a bit more green this year -

A few curves would be nice, but the backdrop is a winner

Last stretch into Bahia de Los Angeles -

Drew & Lance. No injuries, or breakdowns. :thumbup

Hand guards are appreciated -

Driving north, to Ensenada. Recent rains led to a few large wildflower fields.

Horsepower Ranch -

I found about 4 small & 1 large thorns in my spare front tube. It was located in a saddle bag, on the back of the seat. Will rethink that packing setup.

Last change to leave a BARF sticker in Baja. This guy was selling drinks at the border crossing line

Eric - Good job on the pictures. Thanks for taking the time to post.
I was worried about the same thing happening with my tubes. I packed them in a fender back in the Giant Loop. On the back side to hopefully avoid the inevitable thorns we collect along the way.

Thank you for posting!

I grazed a lot of branches and bushes while riding. Maybe I have to adjust the "stay to the right" mindset. :laughing
Perhaps, it's back to the front fender bag setup. Or, on the back rack.
Or, Mousse . . . .

I may have figured out this posting picture business.

I had an awesome time in Baja. If I learned anything, it was how to ride sand, and also that these guys and girls know how to have fun.

As to my bike, I drained the oil (no metal), valves actuate correctly(clearances ok), next plan is to check compression, then check fuel system for clogs or dirty injector

Here's a few shots from the trip Mark did a good job of driving through the flash flooding in Tijuana

Barf AGATT or when you best friends decide to fill every orifice of both you and your bike with sand... Of course there is no photo evidence of Lance's 70mph beach moon job.

You know, I wonder if that happened to my spare tube as well? I carry mine in the front fender pouch. Had a flat before SI, changed it out and went flat again in short order. Didnt find anything in the tire or on the rim etc.

Good stuff to think about. :thumbup

In case you ever wondered why we call Tom Dr. Baja Jensen..... he also pulls cacti needles out with a multitool and other minor trail side surgery too. :teeth
