Well, I think enough of us have run our mouths here: http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433843

Soooo, perhaps we need to have a cook off.

My idea:

We pick a day and have a cook off. We allow people to come and sample, with a donation of 20 bucks, which all off it yes ALL, of it goes to BARF, and then we crown a victor of the BBQ.

We hand out cards, voting cards, to those who show, and after the tasting, they vote.

Winner gets tag under name.

Thoughts?

YES

I was hoping budman would let us make the BARF-B-Q a yearly sanctioned barf event where we could take donations, sell T Shirts, attract sponsors/have sponsor booths and reach more riders. barf bands for music. Maybe a bike show to go with it?

I like the idea of kicking off the riding season with one. So, weekly from here on out? :laughing This IS California you know. Our "season" is about 11.5 months long.

In all seriousness, whenever this does happen I'm thinking a nice big event would be awesome. Similar to the BBQ cookoff shows but on a smaller, local scale. Depending on how many people attend the first one, someone's house may not be big enough - judging by the current entries in the BBQ pr0n thread there's at least a dozen grills we'd need to have going. Add in the BARFers who'd show up for the noms and you have a pretty sizeable gathering already. Moving everyone's custom grills/smokers would be an issue though. I don't know how the logistics of this would all work.

That being said, my stomach's in for $20, and I'm sure I can come up with several friends and coworkers who'd also throw down for delicious food and drink.

Dang. This is gonna get expensive. $50 barely covers 2 racks and a shoulder. Then the other materials and ingredients.
