BARF Militia

MGM auto-popper in action. Shown next to a 5" 2011 for scale. It's a small accuracy target, not a speed target. It's mounted on a 2-for-$33 Hazard Fraught folding sawhorse that thankfully is substantial enough to not walk around on the ground.

We have 2 of those at Diablo action pistol.
Messed with them in tandem. Fun but get old quick.

Y'up. French MAS 46/59 with the grenade launcher. I just got through putting one of these back together and removed the grenade launcher for a friend that recently acquired one. Awesome 7.5mm lead slingin' platform! We're going to be shooting it soon. :thumbup

"Never fired and only dropped once"?:p

I know, old joke. Still funny though:twofinger

What are the chances of getting a group buy together for primers and power AND getting shipping and hazmat fee waived?

I was able to do this early last summer but with demand currently, I'm wondering if they wont waive either fees.

I only know of Grafs and PowderValley. Who is interested and who should I call?

The French designed the internal bayonette to double as a place to attach the white flag when the bayonette is affixed. :laughing

I'd be interested in components as well.

Good luck to ya. People still have stuff backordered from Jan. You might be better off just waiting it out a while longer and picking up what ya need where you can find it. Highly doubt any place is going to accept an order for 200,000 primers when they still can't fill the orders they have on hand.

I hear there was an official white flag issued along with the weapon.:laughing

You're probably right, but how does bullet weight work against wind?

I don't know the drift numbers for 175s versus 155s, and my cpu with the ballistics calculator went kaput, but IIRC the 175@~2600 and the 155@~2900 are comparable at short range, but the 155 has less drift at medium and long range.

Anyone with a working ballistics program can verify or debunk this?

Anyone hand loaded with lead free bullets (223 specifically)?

I've noticed they seem to be a tad big longer in overall length, and thus sit farther in the case. Basic reloading data says they require a little less powder (say 23g instead of 25) starting, than your standard "55gr FMJ."

Anyone got any experience?

Why would you think a heavier bullet drifts more ?

Muzzle velocity. The flight time per unit distance is longer for the 175, so the wind gets to push it farther. The 155 palma never goes slower than the 175 because, even though the weight is less, the BC is still higher. The I wish I had the DOPE on the palma though. I only have the DOPE on 175s since that's what I use.

If the MVs were identical, the heavier bullet drifts less.

So you're comparing a MV of (2900w/155) vs (2600 w/175)

Send me a email addy or phone number and I'll foward the chart

Anecdotal info pertaining to copper. They will all be "longer" than their lead counterpart of equal weight. This is where the pain in the ass comes in as barrel twist rates come in to play, etc.

I don't have any experience with .223 diameter, just bigger bore of my 7mm STW. Copper was a game changer for accurizing a load. :rolleyes
