You must have good internet. Try playing with verizon MIFI. In the same situation you describe. Guy comes into view. you put about 5 rounds into him before dying and when you watch the kill cam it looks like you just stood there and never even fired your weapon. Very frustrating. I can only get medium to long range kills.

Jeez. Horrible. It does look sometimes like I don't even move, and he just shoots me. I have Comcast, but my nerd roommate downloads pron and shit all the time.

BO2 is fun, even if super arcadey. This is nerdy haha, but I have like 11,000+ kills with the AN-94 alone haha. Jeeeez.

Nothing that a good router can't handle with some service based QoS rules...
 
Unfortunately, COD on console has always had the client based host setup. This is why some of the past releases have had "locale only" lobby searches. I remember one night that BARFtron got absolutely decimated by TheMarkofJ and Dying Soldier, two guys who...#1 are some of the best non pro players there is, and #2...live in fucking Texas! I dunno how BARFtron got in that lobby, but a bunch of Bay Area guys connecting to a Texas host? Even if they weren't super beasts, they still had a huge advantage if one of them was the host.
 
So, BARFtron, is on which system? I think I saw it earlier (I remember someone saying it was across systems, but...that couldn't be...?), but I'm lazy.
 
BARFtron is Xbox based. But the ghosts clan says it can be cross platform. So just join it if you want and maybe you'll get whatever bonuses there is for being in the clan.
 
New tip for people just getting this. Don't use your favorite account first. I started using my second PSN account and I'm at a 1.13 kd. It takes a while to learn the maps and where human players like to camp, something you can't learn playing squad mod. You just get f-ing tore up when you first start multiplayer. If you haves screen name that you really like and want to keep a good kd learn on a second account or you will end up having to dig your way out of a +-200 death hole when you do get it down. My first account (my favorite with all my current friends) is about 600 kills to 800 deaths and going positive by 2-3 kills per match is going to take a long time to get it in the green.

I'm still digging out of the hole. Just about back to a 1.0.

Easy to say when you're on PSN. Xbox live accounts cost actual money to have so unless you're famous or something and wanna play incognito, not many are gonna pay to keep multiple accounts.
 
Waaaaahhhhh K/D.

Wanna know a secret kids? Play in a private server first. Run around till you get a feel for the map. Enable bots. Repeat and learn rush times/spots/ranges/sight lines. Best to do with a friend. Won't affect K/D and when you get bored and feel like you know the maps well enough THEN jump into an actual server.

I used to do that on the original xbox with xbox live. Clan would all hop into a private server and spend a few hours figuring out glitch jumps, sight lines, rush points/times, etc in every conceivable game mode before we actually started playing matches on new maps. Now you can figure all that out with a few bots instead.
