Battlefield Bad Company 2

I have no idea why, but i'm much better at this game than MW2. My Kill/Death ratio is better, i score in the top 3 consistently. For some reason, my skills seem to work better. Unfortunately, I still like MW2 better.

Shit I've gotten into flame wars with the very thing about Rainbow Six.

Thing is, if you're gonna make a MilSim game, you have got to have the basic soldier fundamentals in it. Shooting from the prone and making friends with dirt is what infantrymen have been doing for the last 100+ years.

What sense does it make to have snipers in ghillie suits in the game, if they can't go prone? Bugs the shit out of me.

Anybody want to buy my copy of BC2 for $50? :laughing

I totally agree with you 100% however BC2 is not a milsim game. It is an arcade shooter and instead of it being sci fi it is current eventish.

How can it not be MilSim? Everything in the game is culled from the real world, vehicles, weapons, etc. To me, it looks like they've tried to make it as realistic as possible. So I have a hard time seeing it as an "arcade" shooter.

I put in another hour in it, but to me it's just not as fun as MW2. Seems like everybody is doing their own thing in it, no teamwork, no voice chat. When your team wins it's almost an accident.

I'm pretty much done with it, with MW2, Mass Effect, and Final Fantasy XIII I got my hands full anyway.

Here are my .02:

1. I think it is a pretty good game. It can be very frustrating at times, especially when you have a team that doesn't play like a team, and you keep getting beat on Rush mode.

2. There is an overabundance of snipers, but the good thing is that you can figure out ways to flank them and stab them in the head lol. Trust me on this, it is the most satisfying way to end someone. Plus you capture their dogtags :)

3. I find that it is a military simulation when it comes to certain things like the uniforms, rank structure, weapons, vehicles, gadgets, and number of shots it takes to smoke someone. Generally 3 shots will finish them, depending on the hit location. Headshots are always 1 hitter quitters. One of the more amazing things is that you will have to compensate for bullet drop when shooting at long distances. This is a great element to the game for sniping.

4. The reason you don't hear people talking is simple: You need to be in a squad. If you are by yourself, you will not be able to communicate with anyone. Join a squad, and you can talk to your fellow squad members. At first it really bugged me not being able to talk to the whole team, but then again you get used to it and try to feed off of each others gameplay. Plus, if you don't like a squad, join another one or create a new one.

Overall, I love the variety in the gameplay, and it never gets old blowing a building to pieces. This is a must have game if you like military shooters and love overall teamplay, strategy, and the ability to play offensively or defensively.

That is all. :flag :thumbup

I figured that out. But no matter how many squads I join, nobody talks back. It's annoying.

And the fact that the squads can't communicate with other squads is useless. I have no problem having a 9-man team in MW2, breaking them off into squads of 3, and still be effective in communication.

The have no PC demo. I take this as a sign of EA being incompetent, as expected.

Fuck em.

I think they stopped the console demo once the actual game came out? I know the servers were down 2 days prior.

I've had that experience with joining several squads and nobody talking back. Yes it gets annoying. Sometimes I figure someone is listening and being lazy, so I talk a little crap to see if they will say anything lol

Most people use Ventrillo anyways since it is a sollid voice program.

I've had this game for a few days, but I have yet to open it. I'll try to put some time in this week.

I'm still liking this game, only because i'm better at it than I am at Modern Warfare. The one thing that's killing me is EA though. The battlefield veteran site is still down which means that I cannot register for the M1. How much longer til they fix it? Geeze.

No likey?

it's not that I don't like it... it's just that I keep comparing it to the fun I have playing MW2 and it comes up waay short for me

Fuck that. I need your help holding my hand when we play.

I just don't want you to gamble 60 bucks. You may like it enough to keep it but I wish I borrowed my brother's first. It's your call, i'll play it with you. Problem is finding the right time to peel both of us off MW2 :laughing

Return that shit dude. It totally ruins you for MW2. :laughing

the controls and the game dynamics do throw you off a little

Anyway, other people obviously enjoy it and are posting on the thread so I don't want to rain on their parade. It may still grow on me but then again the new maps for MW2 is coming so cue the rain :twofinger

Hey peeps!
I posted my bike on the Moto for Sale page, if you know anyone who's interested let me know!! Thanks!!

I watched my friend play for about 30 minutes. Extremely unimpressed by the pace of gameplay. It's along the lines of Day of Defeat, the source mod for CS, but not nearly as fun
