The Fleet Week ride got cancelled so I was going to spend the day doing chores, and literally was wavering between "duty" and "fun" at 11:45 am when I looked out the window and saw the sun shining and said the hell with chores. Hooked up with Yana's lunch ride to Capitola, and after lunch we ended up visiting other folks at Boulder Creek, the 9/236 intersection and 4 corners.

Felt like it was one of those perfect-riding-weather-day that I haven't experienced in a long time. Really happy I didn't get to my chores :)

Exactly!!! Although seeing how messy my family room is now, I'm wishing I had been able to do my chores on Saturday... :laughing

Yeah this is such a nice area. There was talk of getting a job in Dallas but...what the hell am I going to do in Dallas? Watch a tornado steal my Harley?
 
I have no regrets about having to do the chores this week instead :)

About ten years ago, I had a similar offer. One of the "selling" points was that I could buy a ginormous house for the price of my current one. I figured one would need a large house in that area because you'd never want to go outside!

Interested in playing hookie some day this week and hitting the SC hills? Next Sunday might be tough for me but I'll check with SWMBO to see if we have plans.

Moved up here 30+ years ago from Monterey, and stopped riding due to the congestion. Finally got back on a bike in April and I feel like I'm discovering this area for the first time. The whole region west of me amazing: the coastal mtns, the many nature preserves on Skyline, the regional parks, the easy accessibility of the ocean (now that I can get there on a bike), the gg area, the hills to climb, the twisties. Yes, we are indeed fortunate.
 
Nice, Wish I had taken that ride but we had already planned out that day in advance..

I need more people to ride with...:( Everyone is always friggin busy these days.

Played hooky today to spend the day flat on my back on an ice pack... jacked up my back this weekend... *sigh* I hate being broken.. so I can't afford a second day off... :(
And what the hell is a SWMBO?? :laughing

As a guy who has had his share of back issues (and surgeries) I can certainly relate. Sorry to hear you're laid-up, Connie. If you need a homebrew delivery, just let me know.

We have graphic designed "Day Passes" if you would like to buy one. You have two choices depending on which way you want to handle it:

Day Pass 1 says "I'm going riding today and may not be home for dinner depending on how much fun I am having. Love you" (this is our most popular) $10.00

Day Pass 2 says "Hi Honey. These flowers and a day at the spa are for you. I hope you don't mind but I thought I would go riding for a few hours if that is okay with you. Yes? You are the greatest! :kiss " (this one sells okay but usually Connie and I give the "WTF" look when we hand it to them) $59.99 only because you are desperate at this point to get out of the house so we figure we have you by the balls so to speak.

Hah, love it! Amazingly enough, my wife is very cool about the riding thing. The key is that she knows that I LOVE spending time with her. Consequently, she knows that when I want to go riding it is not in an effort to escape her. The end result is that I don't do too many weekend rides, but when I do choose to ride, my wife has no issues with it at all. Listening to most of the other guys complain about their significant others on some of the group rides reminds me just how lucky I am :teeth
