The best flight ever from the bay area to LA. The experience well blew away every other carrier I've flown on. Jet Suite flies 50 seat Embrear 135's which are brand new. The airplanes appear to be more charter jet aircraft than commercial flights. The experience is excellent, CEO'd by a former Jet Blue C-group director and Virgin Atlantic executive. After pulling into Buchanan field (concord, CA) and parking 20 feet from the "terminal", I was greeted with a Virgin American type lounge for their terminal, friendly desk agent and no security machines.

Free wifi was provided in the lounge and the flight. Snacks/ coffee/ water/ juice was plentiful in both areas as well and the service and crew were awesome. My flight from Concord, CA to Burbank was $159 and was bought 3 days before travel. Flights are as cheap as $119 one way if bought two weeks in advance. The airplanes operate out of the executive areas of airports and there are no crowds and very quick times to boarding.

I woke up at 5:40, got to Starbucks at the bottom of the hill and to the terminal at 6:20. I sat in the terminal for 20 minutes and then, we loaded up and blasted off at 7am. 1:20, from bed to takeoff. That saved me, living in the east bay, a good 2 hours and parking is 100% free.

AWESOME!

Is this something new? I never considered flying out of Concord when I lived just next door.

I can only hope this venture fails quickly. I live near this airport and don't need any more jets flying over my house. :thumbdown

the world definitely needs efficient travel solutions to fail. :laughing

I would love to try this. The thought of what you described seems amazing.

The jet traffic in and out of there has exploded in the last couple years, now I see why! Might hit that up for vegas

Not sure how that is efficient travel, convent for some but not really efficient. Fewer and larger planes are more efficient.

I looked up a flight to vegas from there and not what would I could cost effect and seems to only fly on Fridays and Sundays. The flights I saw were 500 to vegas and you can fly on southwest right now for 69 each way, and in Nov/dec you can fly for 49 each way. Hell I just booked a flight from SFO to JFK non-stop for 290. Flights are cheap right now and their flights did not seem cheap. Hell to save 400 in fares I will drive to Oakland.

Heard about this charter flight and been curious to try it out. Just tried booking a flight next month, flights were limited and cost $1300 for 3 people. Found a flight out of Oakland for $468 with more reasonable travel times. :nchantr

You don't want them to....FlybyU?

:laughing:laughing:laughing

I'd try it if they had flights out of Hayward

B, flights to Vegas are $189 one way. Fine by me to not have to deal with Oakland, etc. I'm in the path of 19R on the hill. I like seeing the heavy iron fly in.

I think it is funny when people move next to airports and complain that airplanes make noise, or move next to racetracks and complain about the noise. Unless the damn place was built after you moved in, I don't see any grounds for complaints.

I used to live close to the railroad tracks. It was no surprise I could hear, and even feel the trains roll by.

I moved to Pleasant Hill 13 years ago and the airport nearby that has been a small local airport with 90% of traffic being small Cessnas that take off every so often. It has never been an issue and I rarely hear them and they never bother me.

However, I did not move into a house next to SFO and have no desire to have commercial jets taking off and landing near me on a regular basis like SFO or Oakland.

How would you like it if you lived in an area for 13 years and then they decide to put in a racetrack next to your house? Don't think many people would like that.

PSA flew regular service out of Buchanan in the 1980s, fwiw. Yeah, I don't think I'd be thrilled about it either, but it isn't necessarily a new thing.
