Anybody got recommendations for Sacramento?

Burgers and Brew
Fox & Goose
Jim-Denny's

I only been to Jim-Denny's for breakfest and I like the place. Nothing special other than the history of the place. I been meaning to visit Burgers and Brew when I pass by Sacramento.

Been to Burgers and Brew. Haven't heard of the other 2. I'll look 'em up.

Does it violate TOS when somebody actually KNOWS something?:laughing:laughing

Axe, are you a Brit or what??? Only Brits love chips enough to make a post like that! And they will drive miles and miles to a place that does em right. A few pints, a giant bowl of chips, makes the evening. I paused on the freezing part, though. I don't know if they do that there..I remember seeing these potato washing machines there, about the size of an old ndustrial white porcelain wastebasket. This was at a great pub near Totnes.

naw,
Sf native
I cooked professionally eight or so years.
i've made a lot of fries.:laughing

ever seen a professional peeler? it's like a giant tumble dryer with sandpaper on the inside.

I just had Umami Burger in Costa Mesa this weekend. It was the bomb diggity. Glad to see we have 2 in SF, 1 in Oakland and 1 in Palo Alto. Should make it much easier to get fat.

I always thought Val's was in Castro Valley. Val's is the bomb, but I haven't eaten there in over 10 years. Good old fashion burger.

Bob's has gone down hill since Bob pasted. It's still better than any of the big chains.

The Counter's fries are the only reason to go. Burgers are ok. Nothing special.

Every time I step into an In & Out. It reminds me of my first one. After a night of smoke and drink at the Pomona Dirt Track race. Walked down the drag strip and into a salty/greasy dream.

As for Honolulu. Just go to Lenard's Barkery. Pick up some Marisala's (spell check please). Make your own burger and use the donuts as the bun. Man I wish Lenard's would open a shop here.

Only someone from Hayward would say that about Castro Valley. Hayward is a shit hole unless you live in the hills. The area by Val's is so bad that you can't even walk your dog down the street, without getting shot. I'm so glad is just sold a house I owned in the Fairview area. Half of the houses on my block are now grow houses now.

The Counter is also in Honolulu. It is out next to the Whole Foods where H1 starts in Kaimuki

More people get shot in Hayward, the cheaper the real estate gets. The reason why I was able to buy mine. :twofinger

I beats living in your parents basement out in Pleasanton or Walnut Creek :twofinger

Yeah! And we got Val's, Buddy's, the Bistro and Hick'ry Pit!:party

Never heard of Hick'ry Pit. I'll have to check this out.

*edit* never mind. I've been there. Why didn't you say Emil Villa's :twofinger

What's the general consensus on Habit's Burgers? We tried out the new one in Santa Clara this week and were favorably impressed. I thought the burger was better than In 'n' Out, and the fries were a definite step up from In 'n Out, which I think are too dry.

I'm so happy that opened since I live like 700 feet from it. Visited three times already.

Definitely not a whole lot of motivation to drive to the Coleman Ave In&Out anymore.

Will be in SF tomorrow for a burger lunch :drool anyone want to join me?

Probably gonna hit Zazo but I also had a delicious burger at Counter the other day - BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, 1/2 lb, w/ sunny side up egg, pineapple, lettuce, tomato, sliced red onions added to it.

edit - looks like we may hit Bill's Place in the Richmond district on Clement St. Me, my brother, and a friend so far.
