Any suggestions?

Anyone have any experience with the Teknic Lightning gloves? They're $98.99 on sportbiketrackgear.com but i'm not able to find any reviews on them

If you have medium size hands, there's a gentlemen in the gear section selling a pair of Racer High End Gloves at a very good price. I own a pair myself; they retail for ~$230, and are worth every penny.

What do you want from your gloves?

Hard armor
Ventilation
Long or short gauntlet
Pinkie bridge
Straps/closure system
Black, color
Reflective bits
Metal palm studs
Gel pad
Kevlar stitching
Kangaroo, cowhide, goat skin
???

In other words...define "best".

well... exactly how i stated in the original post. the best gloves under $100. with that being said, which glove out there is the best all around for under $100 gauntlet or short (protection, ventiliation, durability, etc).

i have a pair of small frank thomas gloves and i know that i also fit small in alpine stars. medium would probably be too big in the fingers

I had a pair of Teknic Violators that were around $100 IIRC. Try newenough and check their clearance section - my Helds were bought from them for around $130 and they're excellent gloves.

I'd try them. I wear S/XS in every other brand, but Medium in my Racer High Ends. You won't find a pair that retails under $100 that are half as good. What price your hands?

bad experiences?

I owned a pair of tecniks back when I didn't know better. They were garbage compared to a good glove. I'm a Held zealot. Find a way to afford a pair; make sure you try them on in person because every pair fits differently, even if they are the same size.

RoadRider carries them. They are located in San Jose.

Just an observation: A friend of mine has purchased hundreds of dollars worth of gloves, looking for a good sub $100 pair of gloves. In the long run, it's probably most economical to buy the good stuff right off the bat.

for about $80, these Vansons were awesome..

comfortable and protective on the street..
