Wanting to try on new suits. Spent an hour trying on suits at the D Store but nothing fits right. Anywhere else have a decent selection? Found one awesome suit at Johnson Leathers but it's not perforated.

rs taichi, revit, spidi, and vanson at scuderia

RS Taichi potentially could fit you better as their stock sizing can better accommodate the short and the wide. But likely you will have to order that and it won't be cheap. You can also go custom. Brian would be happy to measure.

I am not positive they stock Spidi or Rev'it suits but again you could order.

Vanson is more traditional but there are stock and custom options but again likely you will have to order.

Good luck.

Went by there yesterday bc Scuderia used to have a rack of full suits. The guy in apparel was super helpful but, without anything to try on, it came back to a custom suit. Just don't have 2k to drop on leathers right now. Thanks though.

Did you ask Alan if he could perf the suit you liked?

(no idea if that's even feasible, but I'm curious)

cyclegear?

Not looking for any Sedici crap. Their other offerings are A*, which I have and it doesn't fit right, or Dainese, which again, doesn't fit. My best bet may end up being sry Laguna for WSBK

Sadly the only places in SF that stocks off the shelf suits other than the D Store is Cycle Gear, Johnson's Leathers and you might try calling Moto Guild as they sometimes have full suits on consignment. Scuderia stopped stocking full suits quite a while ago. You might try calling Road Rider in San Jose.

Otherwise, you have to go to SoCal to find more options for off the rack suits.

BUT if Dianese didn't fit, I am guess other off the shelf suits probably won't either. You might consider going local and custom like Zooni Leathers.

Helimot was the go to for amazing custom high quality suits but he gave up the ghost to focus on gloves. I guess zooni leathers is the only other local game in town for custom suits

Thanks. I live in SoCal and am back up here for the week, do I thought I'd have a look.

RS Taichi is NOT the way to go if you're on the bigger side. This is a Japanese company and their suits are on the narrow side. RS Taichi suit sizes come in Slim, Regular, and Wide.

I own Alpinestars and RS Taichi one-piece suits. My RST is a regular and it's much more snug than my Alpinestars. I would have to use a "wide" RS Taichi to match the corresponding Alpinestars suit.

I have a Taichi as well. It is on the slim side but that's not my issue. To put this in perspective, I'm 5'10, 190lbs. Far from being hefty. My issue is that I have a 30" inseam, which puts a lot of my height in my torso and makes most suits too short. Taichi may be my best bet for off the rack because they sell multiple lengths for each size but I'd need to try on to know. For now, I went with the suit at Johnson Leathers that has integrated Forcefield armor and am just having them hem the sleeves and swap in perforated leather for the front panels.

Oooohh, now I get it. Why didn't you say so?

This is what you do. First, get yourself some scissors and make a hole to relieve the underlying pressure (not the shoulder end, the other end). Then, get yourself a leather banana-hammock (you can find these everywhere in SF). Now, drop the loose bits in it, cinch it up and you're good to go. :party

On a serious note, not sure what to recommend other than a custom suit. Try giving Pilot a call. Some of the AFM guys use them. :thumbup
