. I might ask a buddy to help move it somewhere more solid like the floor before I start hitting it with the persuader. If it won't split, check for a bolt you missed before you start hitting it harder. They always hide one somewhere.I'd say your 'work table' looks sketchy but I don't think that's a strong enough word.

I referred to the manual and made sure I had the right amount of bolts in my hand before I attacked the case.
I just dropped the mainshaft and countershaft off to be checked since I had a leak from behind the sprocket and shifting was rough. Still debating if I want to get my crankshaft inspected while everything is disassembled.
