Best track I've never heard of?

So my riding buddies and I were discussing traveling to a track. What I mean by that is taking a reasonable road trip to do a track day someplace we ordinarily wouldn't.

Our rotation list is typically thunderhill, buttonwillow and Laguna, but I've ridden Sears and big willow also. Miller is on the list, but obviously things are up in the air at the moment with them.

So let's say within a day's drive, which track would you say is a must do track?

Reno Fernly or Chuckwalla?

Tracks within reasonable driving distance (off the top of my head):

Miller
Chuckwalla
Fontana Auto Club Speedway
Las Vegas Auto Speedway
Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch
Portland International Raceway
Pacific Raceways
Oregon Raceway Park
The Ridge

I'm reasonably certain there are motorcycle trackdays at all of those courses. The best is obviously subjective. You'll have to ride them all and figure it out for yourself.

a lot of people are saying that Spring Mountain's updated configs are a lot of fun. MotoWest raced their earlier this year and everyone i know that went enjoyed the track.

I have The Ridge on my list as well as Spring Mtn after seeing the map and hearing people's stories after coming back as stang has mentioned.

From your location, The Ridge, Miller and Chuckwalla are the most fun, but I have not been to Spring Mtn. since they did the addition.

isnt Miller closing soon? Might want to get there sooner than later...

I have done a track day at The Ridge and it was awesome. Going back up for a WMRRA round is on my list.

strong rumor is that Tooele County will pick up the operations of Miller and itll be open next year

Personally, I find ORP (Oregon Raceway Park) to be the most technical, interesting and fun track of any I've ridden. I'd choose it over any other track, save perhaps the full 4.5 mile that Kiegwins used to run at Miller.

It's got tons of elevation changes and off camber turns and the best part is that it can be run in both directions, which make it a completely different track. The only caveat is that it doesn't have a super long straight and a 1L bike is tiring to whip around because of it's many turns.

But you gotta do the 2 day event and only the MotoFit group is offering that these days.

I work with TrackXperience, we run trackdays at Spring Mountain.

If you've never been, it's a great venue for trackdays. Clean bathrooms and showers, free camping in the gates, and the city of Pahurump is 10 minutes away if you want to get a room at a hotel or dinner someplace.

As far as the track goes, it tends more toward the technical side. A couple years ago they added the East track which has a decent mixture of fast sections and tight turns. Lately we've been mixing it up running portions of the South track with the East track, this really mixes it up for those of us that have been there for years, it's a pretty fun combination of turns...
The asphalt is incredible. These guys have done a great job of both building an awesome set of tracks as well as maintaining them over the years.
In my opinion, worth checking out....

Spring Mountain is definitely on my bucket list.
Can you tell us when the best time of the year is - weather wise?
For us Canadians it's a mighty long trek.

Thx
