Best Video setup for trackdays?

Can anyone recommend a good camera setup for trackdays? Helmet mount? Tank mount? Do you have to have a video recorder to make them work, or can you buy a setup that its all included? I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to video setups. I'd like to have something easy that could be transfered to another bike fairly easy. Thanks

Alex"Dar25" has a sweet set up that he picked up for a $100. It's basically a small camera that that you can mount on the bike with the provided velcro and zip ties. Just download/watch via USB cable to your laptop. I'll research it and try to get ahold of Alex.

Dude.. I bought a Cannon zr800 from B&H for only 159.00 ---> http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/478924-REG/Canon_1880B001_ZR800_Mini_DV_Camcorder.html

It is Mini DV so no scratching DVDs or bouncing Hard Drives

It has image stabilization and a Mic input so you can run a remote mic

Here is a sample of the Vid it takes however this is way compressed! the DV format size is so clear it surprised me. For a $159 camera anyway.

I also got the bigger battery too and it lasted all day and still had 1/2 the battery left.

And For $150 you can toss it down the track and not cry because you just distorted you $900 HD camera!

No, It's the whole thing. It uses a sd memory card and has audio. Sweet deal for the $$

fuck yea it is, i just might have to get one. ive been wanting a video but all the helmet cams i was looking at were like 200+ or get a tank mount but i dont want my $700 camcorder exposed like that.

I would have been a bit skeptical about a $100 system if I hadn't seen the camera in action. I think it's a great deal plus it's pretty rugged since it's solid state.

I've had very limited success with that oregon scientific camera. You get what you pay for. The image stabilization is almost non-existent. The track was waving like a desert mirage in all my videos. Theoretically it could be better if fastened directly to the tank, or a hard part with very limited vibration, but I wasn't able to make it work well enough. Sits in a box in my closet. PM me if you want to buy it :)

I'm waiting for more feedback about the vholdr. http://www.vholdr.com/. Much better light sensitivity and image stabilization... but seems to be having some teething problems with their first release.

Yep Tony is right, I saw the Video Alex was taking at Infineon with this camera :thumbup Now I know were to get one :teeth

The first video we shot was a bit shaky due to the tail section being loose. After stabilizing it, the video was quite good.

That looks like a nice piece of kit. Didn't see a $$

I have the Oregon Scientific firmly mounted in the nose of the fairing, with decent results. The hole I cut is a little larger than I wanted, but it forces the body of the camera into the hole, which keeps it more stable than just trying to mount it and drilling a smaller hole for just the picture. For the price you can't really go wrong.

This is an example of the quality you can get - just a clip of a highside at the Jan Infineon day last month. Decide for yourself if its worth it. It definitely helps me analyze what I'm doing on track.

Also here is a decent pic of the hole I cut sans camera, to give you an idea of how I have it mounted.

Which camera are you using? Like the set up and video.
