You sure she didn't have a hand in some of those failures?
Constantly lugging the engine in high gear and low rpm's, like many women do, can damage the main bearing. Especially if the oil hasn't warmed up yet.
As for the replacement engine, did she follow the break-in procedures?
And the synchros? Does she know how to shift?
Misogynistic much?

My daughter has only ever driven stick, raced karts for a while, laps Thunderhill in my EVO faster than most and is a pretty decent mechanic.
So thanks for the assumptions but no she didn't contribute to the failures.

The Ford 2.3 is a POS with two well known failure modes 1) blown mains and 2) warped heads
Besides if OP is considering a Mazda 3 then he'd get the same thing at a lower price if he chose the Ford badged version.
Mazda: Zoom zoom
not so much
And if it's OK for women to say that men don't know how to cook, dress, or express their feelings, then it's OK for me to say that most women don't know how to treat their cars.
It felt a little long in the tooth in design and interior but was also fun. Not as crisp as the Focus.
