Bike Scam

I think the best epic scam scam was the computer company that sent the guy COD BOXES like 70# boxes of broken computers and ROCKS... To Nigeria or some shite. The nigerian buyer was pissed he had to pay some $300 in shipping for a box of fawkin rocks!!! and they ended up doing it again!!!

I think it was an old washing machine. Something like 70 lbs+. They made up the story that some guy at the store stole the origional shipment of laptops and replaced it with junk and so they are resending the "real merchanise" again. And the Scammer actually bought it and paid for the COD again ......

Tell him you sent the MoneyGram and the money was picked up now you want the bike. When he says he never got it, play along like somebody scammed him out of his $4800 at the transfer office. And you want to get the London police involved and you'll need his cooperation.

Hey, I've got an idea... Let's do that.

J, you got too much time on your hands!!! This is some funny shit though.

Hey I gotta do something productive since I don't have a bike right now :teeth

:rofl :rofl :rofl

Finally got an e-mail back!

My number is +44 20 7855 9739. I'll go to sleep now because I have not slept in 2 days. Sorry I won't be online this night but tomorrow morning I'll start the shipping process immediately. Please take care of payment and reply me the reference number, exact senders name used for the transfer and amount send so I can check payment status first thing in the morning when I wake up.

now what are you/we going to do with it??

I filled the rest of the moneygram and attached his number to it. Enveloped it with my name and address (Dewey in Oroville) and I'll send it his way later.

What reference number is this scammer talking about? Its being mailed to him directly.. unless he wants some sort of a tracking # for the letter.

You sent it express (or whatever international) mail (so it has a tracking number). Since it takes about 4 days or so, send him an email Wednesday that you got confirmation that the MoneyGram was received and signed for, and you'd like to get the bike into the shipping phase.
First give him a FedEx (or UPS) number instead, and "Sorry, I sent you the wrong tracking number".

yes the epic "Anus" computer scamming of the scammer

What reference number is this scammer talking about?
Reference # on the MoneyGram form (bottom right). All he wants is the money. He doesn't want anything mailed to him, he wants the money wired to him. He has his eyes on the prize. Show me the money!

Edit: You do know what a MoneyGram is, right? Don't try to scam a scammer if you don't.

isnt it where you go into a store that does moneygram (like slaveway) and then hand the lady a wad of cash for moneygram and then they give you a piece of paper with a number on it? and then i don't know what happens to the money. do you have to send the paper to them? or just give them the number so they can collect?

are those things like Western Union or something? I wouldn't know, I meet ppl to pay for stuff :laughing or use paypal.
I like the idea of telling him someone else cashed it. after all, he's using a very common name.... act panicked and demand your bike!

Ok thats what I thought. Regardless I'm mailing my custom made moneygram to him. Maybe I should mess with him a little more and 'accidentally' send to to an incorrect address :rolleyes

NO!!! That will end this. You need to string him along some more... Just TELL him you mailed it and act freaked out when he doesn't get it.

If you do send something, make sure he has to pay to get it. Some sort of COD thing or something.

Ok I'll hold off on sending him anything. I'm no expert in doing this so does anyone have anything to suggest?

Even if I do tell him that it was mailed, I'm sure he'll ask for that reference # or some sort of tracking #.

Run down to whoever is a MoneyGram Agent (Safeway? Rite Aid?) and get an actual form to mail him, they should just be sitting on the counter for people to fill out. When he says, "Doh! You don't mail it, I just need the reference number!" you tell him you don't know what it is 'cause you mailed him everything they gave you. You can then mail him a package COD or registered (to get proof of his activity) or just the form filled out with a bogus reference number and let him get flustered at not being able to get the money.

Heh. Or yeah, just tell him you sent it and then after x days you can 'find' the un-sent envelope behind the sofa.

Anyone know if the reference numbers are numerical or alphanumeric?

(Oh, to receive money on the other end I think they just need ID and the reference number. They sign a form at the agent and get a wad of cash.)

I remember that. There were hundreds of e-mails between the sender and buyer. Epic scam. I wish this was the other way around so that I'd be sending the buyer a "bike" ... then ship him useless pieces of bike stuff (fairings, broken engine components, etc.) :)

Send him a "bike..."

A picture of a bike, that is. :p
