Kinda quiet here. Any thoughts on the current state of the world of crypto? Seems like announcement that S. Korea is cracking down on crypto trading is having a huge impact on everything right now.

Up to 30% drop today so far in some coin. Xvg, tron and xlm not doing well.

Everything is down. Keep recycling same news that some countries may ban crypto exchanging. South Korea said ‘possibly’ but it would take a lot of research.....so markets all tanked.

I tried to find an image of streets filled with blood. Let me tell you that is not something you want to google. I found streets filled with the blood of humans and mass animal slayings. Ugh so much for the joke.

If you got the money now is the time to get ready. We may see sub 10k and that's when I go full tilt on BTC.

Reminds me of the guys I worked with back in the dotcom days. We had spun off LVLT Communications. The stock hit a high of around 120, then the bubble burst. Guys at work were thinking it was a steal at 70 then even more so at 50. At 20 they were looking everywhere they could to scrounge more money to put into it.

I had no idea what would happen to the company but I'd say to my co workers that I'd be a buyer at 5 bucks. Of course they thought I was an idiot and it would never get down to that.

It actually got down to around 50 cents and people who had rolled their retirement into it had to return to the workforce.

You know what they say about falling knives.

Sometimes people just get burned out of trying to educate / excite / hype / discuss things, especially when people just want to point out how they are wrong or this is the same as that other thing that already happened..

I'll start up topic. 200 billion has left the crypto market today. Where did it go? Is this a play by powerful people waiting on the sidelines for the go command? It's not like 200B can be removed from the exchanges at the same time. Where is it all?

a month ago i raised the question of whether south korea had undue influence on the global markets but was met with crickets...maybe the question is more relevant on the way down?
 
It's too early to call of course, and it may rebound, but I'll be looking for the chapter on Bitcoin in Malkiel's next printing of A Random Walk Down Wall Street. :Popcorn

damnit. I knew I should have bought some more at 10k. its back to 11.5k and still going up. oh, why do I fail at buying the dips...
 
To be clear I think that btc is way over valued at this point and Im interested in a little capital preservation right now. I'll most likely only mine once my equipment come.

Dont worry Stang, you will get another chance tonight. Probably sub 10k though!

Ethereum is the Google of crypto banking. Now that everyone knows banks are neither secure (how many new cards have you been sent?) or truly solvent (TARP), block chain tech is attractive.

The democratic nature of micro transactions is just the cherry on top.
 
Been wanting to jump into cryptos for a while and today seemed like a good day so I put some money into eth around ~$880-900.

Will see what happens. Does anyone have thoughts on VEN or WaBi? Both seem pretty interesting concepts
