Blurred License Plates

Ahem, Facebook. Also what is the big deal? If people are paranoid about putting their license plate up online then they probably shouldn't be selling their vehicle online. All I have to do is respond to your ad and start the information gathering process. Folks are super paranoid these days.

If someone really wants to find you, they can find where you live, usually without too much trouble.

Funny thing is, when I ask "do you pay water bill(usually county run company)?" They go "it goes to the PO Box. Yes it does, but it has a service address. :laughing they go "Oh! :|" . :rofl

So you can't use a P.O. Box on the application?

Folks are super paranoid these days.

+1...Seriously.

Why is due diligence considered super paranoid? Tell me Jason, would you post a pic of your car for sale in front of your house, with your address showing?

Would you mind if Kelly did the same if she were selling a vehicle?

Am I super paranoid because I keep my door locked at home?

You're taking it beyond what we're talking about. I mean since we're just spitballing, why not post a picture of my latest utility bill in the ad as well, right? :|

No, of course I'm not going to do that. However, I've posted pictures of motorcycles for sale right in front of my house before. I've even done that with a few cars. In all of those ads there were pictures of the license plates as they were still on the motorcycles/cars. I guess I just don't care because there's absolutely nothing that stops someone from doing the same thing any day of the week when they see my car on the road. And no, locking your door doesn't mean you're super paranoid at all. Like I said, you're taking the discussion beyond the point of showing a license plate in an online sales ad. Shit, how do you feel about car dealerships showing the license plates of traded-in cars that are currently for sale in their online ads? Is it not also possible that the previous owner's information could be ascertained by the same methods? Who's at fault now? I mean seriously, people in this country worry too much. Sure, that's just my opinion, but given the shit I've seen throughout this world, it's become increasingly apparent to me that Americans by and large spend entirely too much time worrying too much.

Like worrying about how someone else posts 'for sale' ads? :twofinger

um, whatever.
It's a proven fact this is a country with millions and millions of people who just sit and sift through Craigslist (et al). If there is a license plate, that's the FIRST thing they'll do. Even if they can't spell properly they still may have a contact who can get L.P info better than them
