Buell Blast stripped front sprocket

Well I installed the sprocket today and in the process squished the rear brake hard line which now has a leak. Gotta order a used rear brake line and crush washers oh the saga continues. Was actually looking forward to riding this weekend, oh well to hell with that idea.

To hold the sprocket I used a chain vice grip thingy and piece of broken belt to protect the drive pulley. Worked well but it was a pain to get the reverse bolt installed.

Thanks for the help folks I'll let you know when the punky buellster is done.

No trap door, splitting the cases is a pain because you have to strip the bike down, like take the front part of the frame off, then all parts attached to engine. I could probably get the bike apart in a day, but I would have to have 5th gear pressed into the case. Not wanting to do this I'm going to put new sprocket, lock plate, and nut on and if I detect movement I'll WELD the mess together. To hell with it.

FTFY. :teeth

used rear brake line? are they particularly rare or expensive in a new condition? wander down to royal brass in san jose with the old one and they'll make you a new braided stainless one.

Bike uses a metal hard line with sensor and rubber lines, the leak is in the metal hard line, I could probably make my own but for 20$ used hard to justify the time and money investment.

Its alive and runs. The neighbors are probably pissed off.

Thanks folks!

Here for ya.

Should we reserve space on teh BARFs for more Buell self-demolition action? :teeth
