Bump if you rode into work today

Last second decision to not ride in today - It's been assholes and amateurs so far this week and this morning, though very light, proved to be no different. There is a tangible urgency and general disregard in the holiday traffic.

My commute is only 4miles, but this morning was slippery as hell. Between almost dead pilot power 3 and the marshmallow chassis on the CB1000r....

Sweet looking bike. Ride safe out there!

Yup, a bit ironic how the holidays, which emphasize thankfulness and giving, actually brings out the worst in people. Looks like I'll be taking the cage to see the family today instead.

Right?!

Good choice. I didn't ride in today either:thumbup holidays are the deadliest times of the year for motorcyclists.

Bump. Found a new spot right under a light seeing as it's otherwise pitch black in the parking lot when I leave at 5:30.
Was that you riding with your throttle hand in your saddle bag?

Negative, I've never had a reason to touch my saddlebags while riding. Maybe stopped just to double check I closed one of them. But actually in the bag...while in motion? That sounds...unwise.

I too chose not to ride today and borrowed my in-law's F150. I have to say it felt kind of good to have all that (bright red) metal around me with the way some people were driving this morning.

Sorry. Wasn't you. Saw a guy with similar soft saddle bags like yours at about 5:30am. Thought he was having equipment problems, but he kept his throttle hand in there for quite a while. This is on 24, before the tunnel. I kinda questioned his judgement, and use of cruise control in commute traffic, but I'm a ride your own ride person.

Got it. Yeah, I was still comfy and cozy in bed at that time of the morning, and my commute is all 680. Very strange that he'd keep his hand there for any sustained amount of time but like you said, it's his ass on the line.

Tis the season.

Had to leave for work late today, so I wasn't about to drive. Road in, cold but wonderful.

Back on the bike this week, although I may switch off between bike and ferry over the winter just to give my brain a break - but it was overall a fairly pleasant ride in today.

Nice and brisk this morning :)

A little frost never hurt anyone :twofinger . It was a bit chilly in the low 40's before the tunnel. I gotta get some heated gear soon.

I don't find it too miserable until it starts getting down into the low 30's, high 20's. I don't have heated gear, and they don't make enough layers for that!

Someone asked me today if I still rode into work and told him yeah, I love riding. He says man, isn't it cold?

I tell him hell yes it's cold, but I love riding! :laughing :ride

The last couple winters were pretty cold, in the 20's in the morning. I still rode but it was damn cold :laughing . I haven't put heated grips on the FJ yet, that's about all I need though. My hands get cold real quick even with my insulated Aerostitch gloves. After about 45 mins in 40* temps they start getting stiff and really cold.

Ya, the hands are the worst, right hand especially since you can't exactly pull it off and put it up against a warm bike part as easily :laughing
