So effective 11/1/08 through 02/28/09 there are burn restrictions in place in Sacramento County. You have to call or check a website to make sure there are no restrictions on your fireplace, pellet stove or wood burning stove ... even EPA approved ones.

With winter coming, this kinda puts a damper on lazing away in front of the fire with your sweety.

To your knowledge, does your county have a similar burn restriction?

SF has this ban, of course. They are talking about huge fines and enforcement now too. more nanny state bullshit from our fascist overlords, IMO.

You can have bonfires on Ocean Beach but only certified logs and crap.

Yes, my county does have burn restrictions. To which I say: Burn restrictions? They can just BITE me! Man. Fire. Man! Fire! It's a fucking sacrament.

(and by Man, I mean mankind which includes women; I even went to Mills but I don't believe Man and Mankind are viciously gender-biased words that must be eradicated.)

I know I've said it before, but I don't care.

I love you. So much right now.

Nemo and I were having a huge bonfire on Ocean Beach one night last year (the week before the Cosco Busan curtailed that activity for the year- argh!), and we were told by a park ranger that it was a national spare-the-air night and we were required to put the bonfire out...
Made us most sad. Hadn't exhausted the firewood, the hot chocolate or the cognac yet. However, I've been saving firewood, (and waxed boxes from restaurant vegetable deliveries, and newspaper, and assorted incendiary materials) for a while, and I think we are prepared for an impressive conflagration when we go do it next! Hmmm... should schedule this!

I don't pay any more attention to that than I do the cell phone law. Cold + Winter = Roaring fireplace. F that S!

F that noise. I'm gonna go out to the ranch and fall a few trees into each other and have a party.

I have no idea if Contra Costa County has burn restrictions, but they would have to climb up to the top of by building and figure out which chimney was smoking.

yes contra costa county does now have burn restrictions, they went into effect last week. I say fuck em:wtf

"What are you in for?"
"Blew up a house making meth. You?"
"Um... I burned a Duraflame in my fireplace on a Spare the Air day."

No sir, it wasn't me that started that fire.
It was my inner primordial child.:twofinger
A fire in the fireplace on a cold, wet winter day.
Doesn't get much better. And the rain cleans
the air. What's the problem?:twofinger
