My big attraction, the engineering of these mechanical toys,
The sense of a bright new community,
What on Earth, will you see today, , ,
Playa dusted cocktails, Critical Tits, water truck showers, The Man burns,
and, can't find your way home, street signs are down, man is gone, no point of reference.

Having spent 13 killer years at burning man all in a row I have very fond memories and I've been checking in on the livestream. It takes me right back to the playa..

I liked going there and climbing on stuff. It's like a big jungle gym for humans.

Conversely, the worst part is the sheer crush of humanity descending on what was once a peaceful desert. Not to mention the highways littered with bicycles from here to there. We used to drive it every year for a 6-day weekend of riding in NW Nevada, and we would count them on the way there and back.
 
We shut down our STRs in Truckee and Reno for 3 weeks, before, during and after the burn.

Hell no burners at our rentals. We've gotten burned before.
Extra deep and broad cleaning, threw out linens and a new washing machine at one.

One of the original founders of Burning Man says it's not what it used to be - too many of the world's elite go there to glam camp with private chefs and luxury accommodations.
Too many CEO's and billionaires and celebrities attending have damaged the anarchist vibe of old.

I see the ticket prices range from $550 to $3,000 with not a lot of the lower priced tickets made available - ouch.
Still, it's a week away from civilization and provides an unforgettable experience.

I did notice the $$ side while attending.
Friday afternoon, the real sense of a week in /of community, gets blown out.
Bus loads of the Glampers arrive, airport gets busy, lots of dust free newbies wandering around,
with default clothes,
The urgency to burn intensifies, , ,
Fill out your dance card, burner event parties are scheduled,
