But They Said It Was A Dirt Bike!

My friend Dave (Arsenalist here on BARF) just picked up a new-to-him Husqvarna TE630 and was wanting to take it out in the dirt and blow some of the rust off of his dormant-for-25-years dirt skills. Figuring it would be a nice day of putting around on dirt roads, David and I agreed to ride out to Carnegie with him. David rode his Super Tenere and I rode my Husky Terra TR650 with semi-bald rear streety tire. What could possibly go wrong?

We rode out there from Oakland in thick fog and drizzle, only to be greeted by nice sunshine at the gate at 8am. Great day for a ride. Should we start at the MX track?

Dave's beautiful TE630 had 100 miles on it when he bought it...

Did I say dirt roads? David led us up some blue trails.
ABS disabling. ABS in the dirt on the 575lb Super Tenere is no good...

Even more not a dirt bike than my 650...

Dave got hung up on the trail ahead so David turned the mighty Tenere around, easy as you please...

It's downright small compared to his own bike. He'll be riding it next weekend so this was a shakedown run for him...

He still prefers the massive twin, though...

Wow...Skip's has changed a lot over the years. MotoMart still has ice cream bars and levers, though. Lots and lots of levers

Fun day at the local dirt park. I only hit the ground twice, a moral victory considering the bike I was riding and the tires I was rolling on
And look! Proof that I was really there! Glad I didn't forget to ask someone to take our photo...

Oh yeah, these were on my porch the next day when I got off work. I could have used them...

Thanks, byke! I like this one, too. David only has 2 speeds, pretty much...he's either stopped or full throttle LOL! We're riding Death Valley and some trails this weekend. Should be fun!
