Buy a motorcycle at Walmart?

If you're in Mexico you can. Here's a photo of what's available at the Walmart in Puerto Vallarta. Since the Peso is currently worth about a nickle, you can get a reasonable transportation bike for under a thousand USD.

No thank you.. :laughing

My question is where does one go for support. Does Walmart sell gaskets, chains, tires, etc. that these things will need? Do the bikes come with a shop manual CD?

Walmart going to register it for you in Kaliforniastan? Yeah, I'll wait.

if i recall, ari and zack did an episode for throttle out where they bought mexican department store bikes and rode them back up to california. can check it out if you want some more insight

Meh, not much of a departure from my neighbor buying his car from Costco.
That's all I fucken need, for my better half to return home from her Costco run with all the obligatory basics. A 55 gallon drum of mayonnaise, a 200 count bag of tube socks, 7 gallons of soy sauce and a blue Corolla.

Prolly the same quality as the 'pedal it yourself' bicycles the big box stores sell. Heavy, slow, clumsy, fragile and rusty before you get it home.

Have you seen the mechanics in Mexico? They'll fix it with anything laying around. Car parts, wire, dog toys, chewing gum. And it will work.

" Gaskets ? Wee don need no steenkin gaskets !!!"

Mad

I've bought multiple vehicles through Costco. Contrary to popular belief, Costco does not sell any vehicles. The only thing they do is negotiate pricing through dealerships and then permit their members to buy vehicles through those dealerships at that pre-negotiated price without the dealer being able to haggle or change anything.

My Huffy bikes pedaled just fine. And they were obviously desirable by others since I had more than one stolen.

One of the biggest and best surprises I ever had was a new Huffy bike in 7th grade.

Mom stops by the hardware store and says "I bought a rake earlier, go inside and pick it up."

"Hi, my Mom says she bought a rake, I'm here to pick it up."

"No she didn't."

"*sigh, idiot clerks* Yes she did, she just told me to come pick it up."

"No she didn't buy a rake, she bought this..." and pointed to a new bike.

O.O

:D

:thumbup

One of those late 70s' "MX" style bikes that were all the rage. From that specialty bike store "Coast to Coast Hardware".

So excited. Did all the bike things I wanted of it.

Pretty darn close to this one, I would say:

No need to go to Walmart to buy a Chinese scooter. You can buy one online quick, easy and cheep. Walmart is just a middle man. You won't even have to get off your couch.

Used to be able to buy Allstate scooters at the Sears store.
"Ew. A scooter. Blah."

They were store branded Lambrettas and are going for huge money shipped back to Europe now.

Qué chulo! It's always fun to visit big box and grocery stores in other countries. That Yamaha DT125 is a bargain @ $966.39+16% sales tax. It beats walking.
