I save the Mini for the Mini Cooper, big M. The real proper name

Ah. Didn’t realize Honda had a small motorcycle they call the Monkey. I have an ‘06 Mini Cooper convertible with all the John Cooper Works options. Until my stroke it was my commute and track car.

Moving digits, I hit Live Photo to record, got this,
Unleaded $3.31. Diesel #3.39 filled with Clear unleaded $3.81
Running unleaded previous tank o' fuel, milage 149.4 1.19 gallons to fill.

Profits for big business is good. Lower prices (ha!) is good for average folk and the ones they vote for surely.

Meanwhile I saw an article the other day about CARB mandating a reduction in the carbon intensity of fuels. They vote on November 8th or something.

In September of last year, CARB estimated the regulations could raise gas prices by 47 cents per gallon, but analysts, according to The Times, say customers at the pump could be paying 65 cents more per gallon if the regulations go through.

Gassing up in Fallon last week. Suspect it’s because northern Nevada gets gasoline from California refineries. Las Vegas evidently gets some from Utah. Washoe county (Reno) tied public transportation to a variable gasoline tax making it the highest in the state, great way to avoid budget concerns. I still think the CARB board is very competitive in trying to out green each other, at our expense.

I have seen over $2.00 lower gas in Quartzsite AZ than in Needles CA. Last week I drove from Bishop CA to Fresno CA, over Sherman Pass. Gas in Fresno over a dollar more than in Bishop WTF. CA has winter and summer blend but the price always goes up at each change. Oil Co greed.

Most of what I know about oil companies is their dividends. I would guess the state requires them to change production twice a year which could add cost. I’m sure some in Sacramento would like to see a European gasoline tax.

Watching Phoenix and LA news about this, widely varied responses.

Wondering if Ca. refineries have to make Ca. gas only, with the full cost of greenwashing, passed on to Nevada and Az.
Refineries that don't, dismantled?
Can Texas and Wyoming fill the needs of Az. and Nevada?
