Cafe Racer? Say What?

that looks like a lotta Brit bike for $2k..........

G'wan wit all yer CR stuff & nonsense... :x

Here's the (un)real deal for Cafe Racers... http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/classic-american-motorcycles/harley-davidson-xlcr.aspx

:rofl

What a load of Journalistic crap (I'm thinkin your rofl agrees). I was Thinking of getting a Snortin Norton, but, needed to ride The Harley CR and a Triumph Bonny first to be sure.

I got off the Harley and said I wouldn't have one up my ass if I had room for a battle ship. What a slug :laughing.

The Bonny was like brand new, sitting in this guys Den (on wall -to Wall carpeting polished like no new bike is)...so that was the one I bought.

Brit bikes had snap, in their top end models ( Had a BSA Gold Star as well, but it was best at Ascot TT And Hill climbs).

yeah, louemc,

there's a 2" x 4" color shot of a '67 Bonnie [purple&white with stainlesss fenders] dangling from my monitor here at work -

to many folks, a Turnip 650 is exactly what a M/C [or W650] should look like

:thumbup Yeah FirstBuell, that looked near identical, mine was a 69, and I'd have to see the other side of the front brake to know for sure.

Mine had a double leading shoe design, and air scoop...think it was a larger diameter..the one pictured is the brake that came just before it (Me thinks).

I bought my first two Triumphs, when I lived in Juneau Alaska (the Capital) and the Governor's driver was a biker, had bikes sent up from Seattle (no dealerships back then 1957), in Juneau, so I bought mine from him.

First one was a 650 Thunderbird..their lowest powered 650..Then a Triumph Cub 200cc single cyl... semi knobby tires trail bike.

I've seen this bike in person. SFMOTO had it displayed for a bit. It's an awesome piece of work. Sure it's a combo between dirt/tard/cafe but its not truly either anymore.
If you saw it in person, I'm sure you'd have nicer things to say then bitching that its not a true cafe racer. That guy put a lot of work into that thing and the closer you look, the more you see.
Call SFMOTO, see if they still have it and go check out.
DSR, if your reading this, keep it up man!! That bike is beautiful!! :thumbup

It's hard to see in this picture, but it's the only one I had handy.
That's the brake you referred to; twin leading shoe with an air scoop. I think the Triumph shown by firstbuell has the same brake. The left side spun sheet metal cover on mine (the BSA shown) looks the same as that one.
