So, the girl and I are wanting to take a sunday trip to a beach...but I haven't been to one in like 15 years. Ideally, I'm looking for some place that won't be overrun with people, where we could just chill all day. I've heard of Black Sand Beach up near Marin, and google has turned up Bean Hollow State Beach as possiblities. I'm hoping you locals could point me to a chill secluded-ish beach.

Bean hallow is usually pretty chill..the few times ive been. it is also the only state beach along the coast that allows dogs which is why i was there..i was with my dog

Once you get South of Half Moon Bay but not down to Santa Cruz it's basically a whole lot of beaches with a whole lot of nothing much.

There isn't anything there to make people stop or ??? I know that bean hollow is down by pescadero...

coolness. this is what i'm wanting to hear.

come to san francisco ocean beach this sunday....

tell her this is your normal place with like minded people...

Check out davenport beach. Its north of santa cruz and south of halfmoon bay. Anything in that area is pretty quiet.

It's a bit more of a drive, but I see you;re coming from the CV so what's an extra 30 mins? Anyhow, I'd recommend southern Sonoma County beaches like Doran beach or Duncan's Landing. The latter I'd recommend in particular if you're looking for places to practice some submarine racing, if that's what you're getting at.

That was my thought, but the assholes have caught on and the parking places are littered with broken glass from people getting their shit jacked while they're all the way down on the beach, not hearing shit or in any position to do anything about it if they did.

There are quite a few options that direction it looks like. Thanks on both accounts.

It wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but I'm not opposed to it. :laughing

Mr I is right. Lots of great beaches north of natural bridges and south of HMB that are more or less empty most of the time. Used to ditch class to go on beach dates all the time when I was a senior in HS. :angel :laughing

Here ya go, if you don't mind a short walk. One of the Bay area's best unknown beaches.

If you don't mind nekkid people then Panther Beach is the place to go. Once you get there you have to RUN around to the left which looks like death because the see is there but once you make it - NO ONE! Bonus points if you make it all the way down to the secret cave on the island.

If getting to Moss Landing, is a desirable direction...There is a couple beach area's one is near the boat harbor, and then there is one south of that, that...You would have to do a bit of exploring, to find the road that gets there.

crap. will try again.

I use to run to there from the Marina, then back up the hill around the perimeter all the way to Tam vally and back. 18-20 cross country miles. Great run.
oh wow, very cool location. thanks for that tip.

I don't mind random nekkidness, but the gf, well....I like my nuts where they are.
