My local shop is charging me an arm and a leg for changing out the cam chain
Tensioner $425 and $300 to remove and replace the rear shockis this too much
Or is that the going price?

Yes they are screwing you, IMHO. However, you need to remove the bodywork and radiator yourself. You are paying them to do that.

I'll do them for half that.

Well as far as I can see only the gas tank shell and air box need to
be moved. Other than that nothing else needs to be taken off the bike

Really? Then you don't mind if I scratch the bodywork. You're right about the radiator though.

The CCT is right behind the right Fairing and you can probably do it yourself.
Are you changing it to the Ape Manuel CCT?

I bought an Ape CCT for $60 with the gasket and got a quote to install for around $150.
$425 is Way to much.

Yeah, I purchased the APE with manual adjustment.

The Ape only comes in Manuel.
Good luck to you, atleast you have a ballpark figure of what it cost to get it installed. Not $425. That's crazy.

Installing is the easy part. Getting the tension right, is a bit more involved.

To do an APE correctly you need to pull the valve cover.

thanks for your input guys!

it takes me a little over 2 hours to put on in on a 600rr.
