Pulled trigger on phev rav4, got 8.3% off msrp, 2k under invoice on a car that was supposedly sold out (long wait list) and marked up to 5k ADM.
I was on about 3 dealers wait list, but this came up and even the salers person thought it was a system error on that price. Manager would not hold vehicle with deposit on vin, I was mad they didn't do that but tbh they explained they are such a high volume dealer, it's first customer in is first customer served.
The vin was sold 20 mins into my drive, as he and I were on phone and he had the full order book in his hand before I started driving, but 20 mins later when looking for keys he then realized that unit was test drove and waiting for finance to get them in.
He ultimately said the GM rolled another vin out and matched same price, I was 100% ready for vin bait and switch.
In the end, I was in/out in like 2.5 hrs, still waiting like 45mins before going into finance office and signing
for your track bike
