Careful Whom You Flip off.

Ass-Hats abound.

:|

I am going to start a post about Prius drivers but I saw this and thought I would weigh in here. I have had quite a few altercations involving the use of motorized vehicles over the years and am DONE. There are too many people out there with no regard for others.

Count yourself lucky he didn't try to run you off the road.

Amateur. If someone is taking a swing at your head, you might want to leave the headgear on, just saying.

Horrible advice.

Regarding the OP's situation, once again it appears that there was enough butthurt to go around on the freeway commute this morning.

Zen and the art of moto war.

Execute the pass and be on your merry way.

Wasted energy/karma flipping him off.

In retrospect yes, you're right

It was more of a reflex. I just gave him the finger and rode on. I didn't ride next to the guy shaking my fist while yelling under my helmet :rolleyes

I’m seeing more and more of this crap and sorry but it pisses me off.
Oh, and baseball bat means the helmet stays on.

(I know what I did was wrong but I guess we should all just bury our heads and do nothing when we see people breaking the law even if it’s a minor one. Would a cigarette being tossed out a window hitting me make it ok for me to flip someone off? I’m seeing a lot of hypocrisy in these replies )

If you have a helmet on you can be knocked on your ass from force applied to it extremely easily. And held down easily. I used to think just like you. I learned the hard way.

Just this weekend I gave someone a thumbs up for passing on a straight rather than in a curve, and received a lofty middle finger in return.

In conclusion; people are jerks. Bring on our mutant alien overlords, or whatever that plague in Contagion was.

Sorry I'm with Russ on the helmet thing, I'mma leave it and all my gear ON. Grab my helmet? I grab your thumb and break it while I put you on the ground.:ninjaryde

:thumbup

:laughing

Nope.

Having a helmet on significantly hinders one's ability to make defensive moves and provides one's adversary a great hand-hold.

For the record, I wouldn't have had time to get my gloves and helmet off if the guy was fast enough.

I gave some harley rider the sherrif parked ahead helmet tap once on Woodside road and he flipped me off. Maybe he thought I was making fun of his half helmet :laughing Hope he got a ticket :x

Sometimes a person is in a position to pick her battles... in such cases, I'd imagine that person should pick ones that he can win.

Carrying a baseball bat around is a felony. Shoulda called him in for the assault.

It wasn't until I was in my mid-30s when I realized the hard way that not everyone shares the same love of life and appreciation for freedom that I do. There seem to be plenty of frustrated with/no regard for their life assholes who will gladly escalate a casual "finger" to a serious altercation. They are playing on a different playing field with different rules. Let them be miserable.

I have found that it's not worth it. Keep the bird in the nest...

So I'm an egregious offender every time it's my turn to carry the equipment bag to a softball game?

No, if you have BB gear with you it's not a problem. If you're just walking the streets with a bat the police will have a talk with you.

+1

Real men carry machetes in their cars.

How is Cheyenne? I miss his... authority :twofinger

That is a bad idea. How are you going to grip something you can't see let alone grab at when you are force down by the helmet and probably beaten. Break his thumb, he has your HEAD.

+1 carrying a bat alone without equipment is a huge no no.

if he was riding alone in carpool lane and doing 50 mph then yeah... but otherwise dont do it man. let him be, he will get his ticket eventually

I'm a big fan of the thumbs-up. I prefer the sarcasm and I get to register my complaint with a less rage-inducing gesture.
