Cars that make your jaw drop.

I always thought that "california special" emblem looked totally out of place on the rear quarter. It just looks wrong to my eye.

Cars & Coffee in Morgan Hill has turned into quite a show. Heading up with some buddies on the 18th- next one up. C'mon by, the shopping center SW corner of Hwy 101/Cochrane Rd

Yep, that a mish-mash of parts! First year for the GT/CS was a limited run in 1968. Wrong fog lights, wrong hood, wrong wheels. The '68's also had L/R side marker lights. Side scoops would have been marked GT/CS and a black or white body stripe from the front fender back to the scoop.
Also 68 had the fender "Mustang" in cursive.

For me it looked really clean, but orange is not my beltway. It was super clean like he came straight from the paint shop to get insurance from the dude upstairs.

As for the California Special, pretty sure red wasn't even an option. Buddy of mine got a dark green, black vinyl top, black interior with the 302 and 4 speed for his high school graduation. About a month later did a solid lifter / cam, a Ford performance aluminum high rise manifold and a new Holley carb. Definitely woke that motor up. About a year later he sold the car and got a Cobra. Some kids had it rough!

Ahhh, the good 'ol days when you could tell the make of the car, without even seeing it, by the sound of the starter engaging! :afm199

Looking at the DSC suspension controller for the CTS-V and not sure if it's a good idea or not. Never going to trackday the car, but she does do some aggressive drives to Lake County every great once in awhile...BMR Bushing kits all around I think at a minimum.

You have a Gen 3 car? At Laguna, I'll ask if anybody is running one of those controllers.
In other news, today's practice Cadillac has three cars in the top 5. :teeth
And "Yes" Cadillac is building their own F1 engines. They will initially race with Ferrari engines in their first three seasons in F1 (2026-2028), GM has committed to building a dedicated F1 engine plant in the U.S., which will power the Cadillac team starting in 2029.

Fffuuuuuuuu....mine's same color. Thanks for asking around. mine's bone stock aside from floor mats. 18K miles, but she's set for a suspension refresh. All the rubber bushings seem too have too much play for me.

Damn the GTP cars are fast... Dries Vanthoor in the BMW M Team RLL #24 got pole position with a time of 1:12.854. A new track record and earned his fourth consecutive pole position this year. Top ten car times are soooo close. Looking forward to an excellent race tomorrow.

2/10ths is insanely close to blanket the top 5.

Nice to see Wayne Taylor Racing up to speed, guess I’d better watch the race.

Ha, ha... once again: Damn the GTP cars are fast, just 6-1/2 laps / ~7.5mins into the 2 hour, 40 min race on the 2.23 mile track the GTP cars are lapping the GTD Pro cars!!! Porsche is the team to beat this year. Some elbows out with a little bumping and grinding and some cars off in the dirt and then back on track there were no Cautions during the race. With 30 -35 cars on the track mixed class racing is fun to watch, lots of passing. Cadillac finished in 6th, 7th and 8th.Here's the top 20 results.

The new Aston Martin Valkyrie GTP car is running a Cosworth 6.5L, naturally-aspirated V12 engine. It has a higher pitch exhaust note to it that sounds pretty good, kinda like an F1 motor on a low dose steroid regime. Although, no where near as  as the Caddy motors!

Only a couple of Gen 3 CTS V's in the corral. One was stock while Phil's car has the engine mods and other goodies. As for the "controller" he said that he had looked into and talked with DSC about it's compatibility / programmability with a "tuned car" running E85. At present he decided not to run it at this time.
He was up at Thunderhill last Thursday and Friday drove to Laguna. As for the bushings he said check the donuts on the diff craddle first. He said that there are delrin inserts that help to stiffen up rubber bushings and reduce movement. He's running solid aluminum "donuts" and new control arms which he said makes a noticible difference. He also said even if go with new rubber bushing get the car aligned.
Here's some of the tweeks to his car.
Magnuson 2650R Supercharger w/ 103mm snout and throttle body
Toohighpsi secondary fuel injection with e85
10L90 10 speed transmission conversion
FI Interchiller
RotoFab BigGulp CAI
Borla S-Type Catback exhaust
Carlyle Rear Suspension Arms
BMR Rear Carrier Bushings

The Porsche Carrera's convertible roll bars, also known as pop-up roll-over protection, are designed for safety in case of a rollover. These roll bars are typically hidden behind the rear seats when not in use. They are part of an automatic system that uses sensors to detect a potential rollover situation. When a risk is identified, the system triggers the roll bars to deploy within milliseconds, popping up to provide structural support and protect the occupants. This mechanism ensures safety without compromising the sleek design of the convertible.
