I had him as a student several years ago at a private track day. We worked all day one on one.
Your assessment is right. He was a good rider and a good student, willing to do what I asked and open about what kind of result he was getting. He was a regular guy when it came to interests and conversation.
He also had a good sense of the absurd around his good fortune. This was near the end of the run for "Friends" and he recalled that when the show went big, he bought a ranch and set up a motocross track there. He bought a D6 Cat and would invite his buddies over to rut up the track so he could fire up the bulldozer and groom it.
