I purchased a Char-Broil Commercial Series grill from Lowes, for about $527 back in June of 2004. This was one of their top of the line grills back then, the normal price was $699. I had purchased a Char-Broil 'Big Easy' the year before (2003) for $299. That is when I became a 'gas-grill convert'. After 1 year- I gave my Big Easy grill to my wonderful :mad Sister.

I have used and abused this grill for 10 years. I don't believe that I have EVER replaced ANYTHING on it. It works great, except for the electronic ignition- it finally died about 3 months ago. I just use a long-lighter. I also have very clogged burners. It is a 4-burner, and only 1 of them lights up 100%. The others light <50%.

Well, I was trying to see how to replace those parts, and I saw that most are not available on the Char-Broil website, and the ones I did find (3rd party site) were about $45/burner. Multiply that times 4 and you are talking almost $200!!

So, before I decided to throw down that cash, I called Char-Broil to ensure that I was really ordering the correct part # (it was on a 3rd part website).

To my shock, Char-Broil said that my grill was still under warranty!!! I ordered everything I needed and only had to pay $4.60 for shipping!!!

I love great customer service!!! When I was shopping for a grill, the comparable Weber was around $1,800!! (Would Weber Inc do that after 10 years?) So, if you need a grill- please do yourself a favor and go buy a Char-Broil!! I keep mine covered, I think that has allowed it to last soo long.

It's really nice to see a company support it's products and customers. Good on them for taking care of you and good on you for the shout out.

That is awesome... My Kenmore has similar issues hummm

Auntie-

I read that if you remove the burner, and soak them in a solution of White Vinegar and Water, that will unclog some of those clogged holes in your burners. That could alleviate your problems, w/o having to spend any $$.

Yep, it was a real pleasant surprise to me. Thanks.

It's also extremely common for little spiders to crawl inside those burners, build webs, and then promptly be incinerated, leaving their roasted little bodies clogging up the ends of the tubes

Wow, that is amazing.

Been a Weber guy forever but that is impressive.

BTW, natural gas hookup is definitely the way to go vs. propane.

About 1/2 the fuel cost, never mind the vast difference in convenience. :thumbup
