"The Nature of Existence"

All the mysteries of the Universe...explained! ...Sort of.

Why are we here, and who are we? What started the Universe, and was it a mistake? Does God exist, and why is he so interested in our sex lives? After exploring the phenomenon of Trekkies (Cinequest, 1998) and the world of car salesmen with his dark comedy Suckers (Cinequest, 2000), filmmaker Roger Nygard takes on The Nature of Existence. As he roams the globe to the source of each of the world’s philosophies, religions, and belief systems, Nygard interviews spiritual leaders, scholars, scientists, artists, pizza chefs, and others who have influenced, inspired, or freaked out humanity.

His travels highlight the words of such luminary figures as Indian holy man Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (The Art of Living), evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins (The God Delusion), Chinese Taoist Master Zhang Chengda, Stanford physicist Leonard Susskind (co-discoverer of String Theory), wrestler Rob Adonis (founder of Ultimate Christian Wrestling), confrontational evangelist Brother Jed Smock, novelist Orson Scott Card (Ender’s Game), director Irvin Kershner (Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back), the body of Pope John XXIII, and Stonehenge Druids Rollo Maughfling & King Arthur Pendragon.

Deftly combining an investigative approach with his trademark humor, Nygard offers a challenging, hilarious, and spectacular view of humanity, spotlighting what is it that makes us who we are—students, teachers and explorers of life. The Nature of Existence is an unforgettable journey, one that is quite possibly the most important to take…to find the meaning of our existence.

"If you only see one movie this year with all the answers, see The Nature of Existence." - Michael Rabehl

This is not our 'usual' $6 Camera Cinemas movie night - different location and you're all on your own to get tix. (I just got mine online in case it sells out.)

Highly recommended to get tix ASAP online, as it's not a very large theater.

Tickets are $12.

When: Sunday, 3/8, 7:30 show.

Where: California Theatre
345 South First Street
San Jose, CA 95113
(near the Convention Center - map)

I'll dine at Asqew 5:15ish.

I have a feeling that getting in line early is important for good seats. :Popcorn

If you're interested, seriously get the tix now. A couple of years ago I waited in line the night of hoping enough would be available, but they only had about 20 for the 75 people in line.

... I have a feeling that getting in line early is important for good seats. :Popcorn ...

I'd say a minimum of 60 minutes early for the line.

I'm going to the "Day of The Writer" this Friday -- all day!!! :banana

I'll see what my workload looks like tomorrow and judge if I'll be able to make the Sunday show. Hopefully can still get a ticket to teh film.

:thumbup

In!!!
Thank you :banana for setting this up!:)

Ok, they're now sold out.

If anyone wants to join us for dinner and/or get my $6 passes for a movie at Camera 12, let me know.

Dinner now planned for 5:15, hang out in line 6:15ish.

Completely sold out, or need to wait in line for tickets?
If there is still a chance, I'm IN!

Judging by the size of that theater, I'm guessing they're all gone.

Like "The Secret" and others, it'll come out elsewhere I'm sure. :cool

You may take a chance though - feeling lucky? :laughing

I'd call the theater and / or the event coordinators and ask if they expect any tickets to be available on the night of, possibly for standing room.

One of my friends asked and they told him that many seats are saved for those that have bought the week-long passes that let you into any/all of the festival movies.

They don't expect all of them to want to (or be able to) see this last movie.

Sounds as if they'll wait till the last minute and the no-shows' seats will be sold to folks in line as they're made available.

So there IS a chance you'll get in. No idea what time that line will start though... :dunno
