Melissa, both times, very late, not dawn/dusk, driving under the speed limit and...#1 was while merging onto I-80. No idea where that one thought he was going....#2 bound out into my lane and stopped...literally deer in the headlights...assume he had a terminal illness and wanted to end it all.

Brief thought on the subject of suicidality...

Words are best coined when their meaning is easily perceived.
I had a professor that stated, "As therapists, psychiatrists have drugs. Psychologists have only words." Believe he was telling us to 'choose wisely'.
Was not a candidate for the hotline. Explained I felt the first duty should be to explain to incoming callers that going to the top floor of a very tall building after midnight was thoughtful of minimizing collateral damage and maintained a sureness of effort.
Irish DNA contains equal doses of blarney, booze, pretentious prose/poetry and a propensity toward depression.
