I tried some last night at the barf sausage party. I would say anything but cheap vodka would be a waste. It tastes more like gummy bears with a vodka aftertaste.

If they're soaked for more than an hour they absorb a lot more alcohol. We used good vodka and left them in the jar for a day. We made drinks with the vodka and scooped a spoonful of bears into the drink. It was amazing and we were hammered.
