Compression testing

Agree. Something might be wrong with your leak down tester. Did you use the same hose for the compression tester and leave the shrader valve installed?

Zero would be fantastic but it’s usually somewhere under 5%—under 10% and you’re good.

I used the same hose but motion pro uses the same hose in both kits. One end threaded into the plug hole, the other end is a male quick disconnect.

Parts will be here tomorrow to put it back together, guess we shall see if it fires up this weekend

You might consider tearing the engine down to see if it’s worth putting effort into repairing it. Or just get a good used engine. Or sell the bike for parts

well, better luck next time!

Regarding your test results though, I’m convinced that the Schrader valve is still in the hose that you used for both the tests. You can use the same hose, but you have to look in the end and remove the little valve when you’re doing a leak down. It’s the same core as a valve core in a wheel.

During the compression test it’s needed because you’re turning the motor over letting out the combustion pressure. During the leak down you’re relying on the actual pressure the combustion chamber can maintain on it’s own.

ill take a look today. that makes sense that the compression tester needs a check valve. thanks!
