Anyone else playing this game?

I finally got an XBOX Series X and Cyberpunk 2077 was the first game I installed in it. Gotta say I'm quite blown away by the graphics and depth of this game so far. I know it got a lot of shit reviews because the last gen consoles couldn't handle it but aside from one graphical glitch where the faces melted off the characters during a cutscene, and one freeze, it's been working pretty flawlessly for me so far (about 10 hours in).

It plays a lot like Fallout/Far Cry/Assassins Creed/Skyrim/Ghost Recon/Witcher so if you dig those games you'll probably like Cyberpunk.

Keanu is a pain in the ass but it's cool to see his likeness in a video game.

Driving physics could use some work but whoever designed the vehicles in the game did a fantastic job reimagining vehicles in that world.

Some screenshots.

My character after 8 hours in with all the best gear I can scrounge up (I'm poor AF). #TacticalAF :laughing:rofl

Screenshots can't do this game justice.

I am waiting to be sure all the bugs have been worked out before I play this one. There were a lot of issues on launch, I trust CDPR to fix them, but that takes time. I have plenty of games in a backlog so I don't feel the need to hurry. The comparison to Witcher is apt because it's the same creator.

The game was so damn buggy on its release date I put it down and never picked it up again. I got stuck somewhere about an hour or 2 into the game and couldn't get out because it was so buggy. Even watched a youtube video of what you're supposed to do and the game wouldn't let me do it.

No game is perfect but the product they put out on launch was down right embarrassing for the resources available during development.

I'm sure it's better now but if they know the game is so jacked, then don't release it.

They were calling this CyberPrank 2077 when it came out because it was so buggy and effectively unfinished. It looks like they've got a roadmap of where the devs are going to take this. But yeah, all the screens shows this is a pretty visually stunning game.

A Whole lot on /r/cyberpunkgame

I actually bought a new gaming laptop just before COVID with the intention of playing this thing when it came out, which is a big deal, because I don't really play much video games. The release was such a shitshow from what I could observe from friends that I just sort of wandered off and never bought it.

You feel like it is patched enough to be a thing, huh?

Nope. Too buggy at this point. Plus, my GPU doesn't have ray tracing so what's the point? LOL

I’m not into vid games nor teslas but saw this today. Fwiw my DD is 35 years old. I have no idea if this is a big deal.

Yeah, my GeForce RTX 3080 will do ray tracing. I figure if Scorp's Console edition is working ok, PC is probably even better.

I played it on Stadia for a while but I'm a busy man and don't have time to finish something like this. I enjoyed my time with it though.

Gonna head home to play ratchet and clank!

Whose kidney did you sell to get a hold of that. :laughing

Bought a high end machine direct from MSI. I think I had to wait like 6 weeks for them to build it, but I think they are also a preferred vendor for NVidia, so since I ordered some time before the CP2077 Release Date and had a functional personal machine already, waiting a bit was no big deal.

I was about due for an upgrade and the MSI is my first machine with 100% SSD so that is fun.

Be patient and follow the Discord Bots, I've picked up a 3070 for my wife and and 3080 for myself at normal retail pricing. It took time and was a bit of a PIA, but worth it to get them before LHR came into play. Used the excuse to do a complete rig overhaul for myself once I had it confirmed and in my hands. Totally worth the effort.

So okay, let's just get this out there: I'm a massive fucking apologist for this game. I'm also one of the lucky folks. I'm on an aging CPU bit was able to score a 3060ti in time for the games release. The ttrpg is also pretty much my favorite creative property ever made. I'd been waiting 28 years for this game, and if steam hours are truth, it's my favorite game ever.

It's still flawed, still has some bugs, and there's still some stuff that disappoints me. But holy shit I love this game

You aren't supposed to love Johnny/Keanu. He's a super toxic, broken character. That's on purpose. I did a full playthrough and I fucking hated him. Second and following playthroughs I realized who he was and how to relate to him.

CDPR's reputation for writing here is on full display. Dig in, explore, do side quests, and you'll be rewarded. It's an amazing story with tons of awesome characters.

And holy shit, I never thought in my life games would look this good.

Also since it's pride month in obligated to report that this game has some of the best lgbtq representation I've ever seen in a triple A game.

Sorry dudes. Judy's gay.

I have been told that before...

I actually like the ruthlessness of his character. Brings out my inner terrorist. :laughing

I actually love exploring and side quests but damn the side quests in this game are getting annoying. Everytime I finish one, two more pop up. And then I got people calling me left and right making me do this or that. Of course I can't refuse any of them. :laughing

I've already gotten some pretty good rewards from the sidequests and even found a legendary item just from exploring in the middle of nowhere.

I haven't built a PC in 20 years (Voodoo 3 3000 FTW) but what is it with these graphic cards that make them so hot? I just saw a video on Reddit where it was a mob scene at a computer store in Texas to get these cards. I mean full on Black Friday riot kind of crowds. What gives? Is it just a super limited supply? Are there really that many PC gamers these days?

Supply chain issues, bitcoin mining, and lots of people stuck at home with not much to do.

I sold my 6 year old 980ti secondhand for more than I bought my 3060ti.

It's a messed up time for all computer electronics.
