cycle gear pacheco

Crystina is the other girl, and might just be the one pictured. It'll be a shame if she gets the boot, she's really been the only one to really take the time to talk to me without, incidentally, getting sidetracked by people buying/looking at more expensive stuff. And then she still understood my reluctance to buy Bilt gear and didn't push the matter.
She even gave me her number because she has relatives that could work on my 250 for cheap.

Everyone there has been pretty cool save for the first time I went in and a guy tried to sell me their most expensive rain suit and tried to convince me that the large (smallest they had in stock) would DEFINITELY fit me.
Well, I looked like a black stay-puft marshmallow man! I could have fit 10 of me in it and he was still going "Oh, well, you'll wear gear under it".
The amount of gear that would take would render me immobile.

Needless to say, I walked out with nothing that day, but have been in since and have not run into him, and everyone else has been genuine enough.

My experiences at Cycle Gear have always been consistently good. From the store that was once in Richmond, to Concord, Pacheco, SF, and SJ, I have always had good experiences with all of the staff. I have spoken with the woman in the photo on more than one occasion. She is nice, helpful, and attentive. I don't suppose the person making the complaint has ever taken a break on the job. It's not like that ever happens in the real world.

I will say that I have been rather disappointed with the poor quality products that carry the Bilt Label. I would not mind so much if the store was not dominated with Bilt. Fortunately they do carry other products worth owning such as Dainese, First Gear, Tour Master, etc.

After visiting Cycle Gear in SF tonight I have to say, do they carry anything besides Bilt?

I found that more than half of the merchandise is made by Bilt. I bought one pair of Bilt gloves. They developed a hole in a matter of days. I have heard of others with poor experiences as well. I think I am going to look around at other places to find gear.

If you are a buyer at Cycle Gear, you might want to make a note of the fact that there are those of us who don't care for stores that are dominated by one brand. Especially when that brand is a new entry to the market that makes products of questionable quality.

I was at a CG tonight and was told that they have dropped from being "dealers" for 175 companies, to 40, in the last year/two.

It seems that either corporate is pushing towards more in house brands and dumping outside competition, or the outside competition is dumping them as they release a knock off product.

The employee said it hurt to have to turn away customers who are trying to order a part they ordered in store last year, only to be told its no longer available through CG.

The only really cool guy I like to converse with is Matt. He has this great personality, really chill, and is obviously passionate about Moto's. He's always willing to answer any questions to his best ability, and if he doesn't know he won't try and bullshit it out. Matt is probably the only reason why I would still go to this CG for anything.

The Pacheco store hasn't recovered from the loss of Jodi Mountain, she was one of VERY few "black shirt" women in CG, I heard she went to the Benicia HQ.

Hemper Sly!

i am lousy with names but the cute girl at the modesto shop is good to work with. sad the store is so small.
and the gal in the street riding gear dept in sac, very helpful.
received plenty of good help from the staff in the sac super store.
but maybe the young girls like to be around us older gray hared guys. (we can flirt, but do not hit on them).
and not everything in the cycle gear stores is junk.
most of the tools are one time (if lucky) use only.

.

local cycle gear has some friendly staff..always attentive to their customers /shrug

This is really poor form. If you had an issue you should've told her or privately contacted CycleGear.

avissa is the only reason i shop there.. her customer service is awesome.

I only shopped at CG when Mike Solis worked there! Even after he left, they still always took care of me (way above and beyond my expectations).

If you have an issue w/ someone, instead of posting on the intrawebz- talk to the manager, THEN work your way up.:cool
