crap. crap. crap. crap. double crap. crap.

"Bilt" and "Street & steel"

I know we've talked about this before, but it seems like they get more in.

:thumbdown for cyclegear selling more crap products that should keep us safe on the road.

I crashed in a Bilt helmet and Bilt boots...gloves, too.

They worked like they're supposed to. What's the problem?

Cyclegear's stuff I consider one-use only. I went down wearing some Bilt gloves a million years ago and it tore the palm right open. It's not really suitable equipment.

for the price it costs, im not complaining. my sedici gloves are ok for ~40$ even though the velcro is starting to come off at the gauntlet. im not too upset because they are cheap and i knew that. i still go there for oil filters and what not. oil is cheaper at o'reily's though.

I'm waiting for the thread where someone is mad because they were FORCED to buy bilt :x

:dunno

I got a pair of speed and strength boots on sale and a pair of icon jeans on clearance last week there. They still sell name brand gear, just not as much as some other stores.

This seems like complaining that Walmart only sells cheap stuff, what do you expect?

Nah... it's a pressure-free sales environment!!

Connie is on a roll today!
(The dogs eyes are what got me)

My BILT helmet I paid $40 has treated me great. It gets more use than my SHOEI x11. My friend went down in one at 80mph and his noggin is fine, though the helmet took a good scrape completely around the sides and back. I've had some of their other gear kinda fall apart, but they have a 5 year warranty so I just brought it in for a replacement. The helmets are fine though. DOT is DOT.

True, but I gotta say that I was pissed when I went to Cycle Gear about a month ago to buy a bike cover and the only thing they had in stock was a POS Bilt cover that felt like it would be lucky to last a year and they wanted $109 for it! They had no other options in stock. Luckily SJBMW around the corner had some very nice ones, and a lot cheaper. At this point, I've pretty much given up on Cycle Gear for anything but vinyl numbers.

They wouldn't make ads for these items if they weren't selling. I bet they make more money off those two brands than everything else combined.

A Bilt cover costing over $100.00.
I gotta call :bs
$40.00 perhaps.
