I was I was not aware that Rally2 rookie Preston Campbell was the son of offroad pioneer Johnny Campbell. He is showing that metal now!!! He took 13th overall and is now leading Rally2 thanks to a little bad luck for his competitors. He sits 11th overall with 10th just 7 seconds ahead. Outstanding young man! :applause

Stage4 and Overall ranking: https://www.dakar.com/en/rankings

Some pretty vids and info from Stage 4.

With in the same second at Dakar, almost impossible.

Well Skylar got lucky with that tire and made it through the marathon.
The videos are fun... all those racers looked like they were enjoying it.

Chucky rocked the day and has taken back the over all lead with Ricky 2nd.
My boy Preston did AOK and is now in 8th overall in the general ranking and has 20 minutes plus on second place in Rally 2.

Mason Klein lit up and performed up to his talent level taking 7th. :thumbup

The riders faced some difficult terrain. See that make me think Skylar had a tire angel in tow.

Highlights:

Well we have a battle at the front. Ricky with the stage win, his team mate Tosh second and Sanders third with the Mustache man a solid 4th. Mason Klein again in the top ten. I need to check the general standings when the come up. He was way down in 80th after his issues.

Only 45 seconds separate our boy :flag and the Aussie.

Mr Brabec gets my stage win after Mr Sanders and KTM get a 6 minute penalty for “speeding.” :laughing

guess I’ll take it. :flag

Campbell is impressive and I am routing for the rookie to take Rally 2.
Being in the top 10 bikes overall is pretty amazing.

Mason has rebounded to 13th overall. Coming on strong! :flag

RANKINGS are up.

Back at it. Some riders got stranded in the dunes and slept outdoors alone.

Chucky and Ricky are still looking like the two who have the best shot, but Benavides is closing in and is solidly in the game now too. Tosh has slipped back but 15 minutes is still doable given the time and miles remaining.

Toni Mulic is closing on my boy Preston in Rally2 and is just over 11 minutes back.

STANDINGS

More awesomeness.

Great Dakar thus far! 3 Mericans in the top ten, and hopefully Mason climbs up. Five AMERicans with Benavides and Nacho. Great to see Nacho doing so well on the Hero.

Preston Campbell ripping it up his rookie Dakar. Definitely a strong Merican imprint on HRC Honda this year, almost like a 1X Baja team. Go Ricky! Git sum. :flag

Reading a few folks spent the night in the desert dunes. When I sleep out in in the desert, I make sure to pack the pink flamingo beer bong and my cowboy hat. Hopefully they were as well prepared. :toothless

Barfer's would have a big bonfire and try to "borrow beer" from the locals.

and we would "biovac" in blown out roof less palapas. If Barfers ever went to the desert.... :banana
