So this morning I got up early way before sunrise and was hungry as hell. Wanted a proper breakfast and my usual go to place across the street from the local Denny's wasn't open yet. So Denny's it is.
Now, most of you will remember the thread a while back about me not tipping the worthless cow of a Denny's waitress for shitty service and I got a lot of flack for it, not that I give two shits about it anyways.
Anyways, haven't been back to the same Denny's since, wouldn't want to run into the same waitress and give her a chance to spit in my food now would we?
I went with the plan to turn back around if I did see her, and get breakfast from Starbucks or something. Fortunately, the worthless cow was not there, or had been fired for her incompetence. I didn't care either way, just that she wasn't there. Just one waiter, and a few customers. As soon as I walked in, opened the door, the door felt broken or something, and I see some bum sleeping on the waiting area bench booth. Later, after I've ordered and started writing on a piece of paper of things I need to get done before my two week vacation overseas, another bum comes walking through the restaurant and starts asking the few customers there are for a free handout.
I never give anyone a free handout, I don't even donate to charities as I don't think the money will ever reach the intended purpose anyways. So the nerve this guy had to disturb me while I'm seated in a restaurant in the USA asking for free money. This happens in 3rd world countries, but not in the US. Very rarely at least. Finally after he's made his way around the restaurant getting turned down by everyone, the waiter finally pulls him aside and tells him he can't be bothering the customers. He offers him a free coffee and the bum then asks him why he's making fun of him. The waiter then tells this asswipe he's not making fun of him and that he's already risking his job to offer this guy a free coffee. They go back and forth over some stupid bum talk. Lesson kids, don't talk to bums, they will only make you more stupid. Dude finally rejects the coffee and proceeds to walk out. He sees me staring at him and he stares back and looks like he's about to try something. Me being me I don't back down so I continue staring at him and giving him a Holier than Thou smirk, if he wanted to get physical I gladly would have handed his ass to him while waiting for the police to come and pat me on the back for doing my daily contribution to society. The sorry fuck realizes he's out of his element being inside a business that would have had everyone jump in to beat his sorry ass walks out a loser and most likely feeling defeated. Just another daily occurrence for this Denny's I suspect.
What bugs me is that this Denny's has now become a run down place full of bums with bums sleeping inside, bums walking around inside asking for money, giving free coffee to the bums, isn't that what Glide Memorial is for? It will be hard for me to want to go back to this Denny's again. I just don't associate with bums. Sucks that there isn't classier places open 24 hours.
On a side note, I know this will be asked, I did tip the waiter, with a nice crispy $5 bill.
Now, I shall put on my flame suit.
