LOLWUT?
everyone has dreams. many times those are not entirely possible (such as being an astronaut) or involve a lot of luck (winning the lotto) thats out of your hand. or maybe you really wish you could be in motogp, but you know, you aint that fast and theres really nothing you can do about it.

but there are other dreams that are realisiticaly achievable, or attemptable, with a little sacrifice, luck, skill, dedication, etc.

whats yours?

mine? I want to overland backpack, cairo to cape town. no plan, nothing organaized, the route nothing more than loosely planned out, and covering some countries not usually on that itinerary. entirely solo. yes, its dangerous, and it crosses through some less than savory areas that could pose an issue. but its DOABLE for me. theres obstacles, like who watches my cats for 6 months to do it, and a lot of sacrifice in terms of money saving, preparation, getting visas etc, but its totally actually doable. now that i've been to africa multiple times, multiple areas, and sort of learned my reaction to traveling there, how I rect to situations, and continued study makes me more knowlegable, I realize that dream i've offhanded trained for is actually a serious reality.

what's yours? an adventure you've always wanted to do? a language you've always wanted to speak? a house you've always wanted to build, or a place you wanted to relocate to? something youvbe wanted to see, do...shit maybe you just want to lose some weight, finally bench 225, do a stoppie...

or maybe I just love toto too much

Become independently wealthy,
buy a compound and fill it with all the people that matter to me.

Get a helicopter license (but it's 5-6 times as expensive as planes)

I'm undecided what time of engineering degree I'm going to pursue. If I go civil I want to be my own boss and save up enough money/resources to rebuild infrastructure in war torn areas. Definitely achievable, but not going to be something done quickly. Doing something like that would actually be a dream job....

Already registered with http://www.hefy.org/ hopefully I can save the $500 and get myself on the waiting list before spaces fill up.

Own a hardware store in a small town. You get to help people build things and get to know your neighbors in a community sense. Complete opposite of my corporate legal gig I have now :laughing

Writing a book
Thats a good one, I have a good story to write....I also have a bunch of inventions that I should pursue.

Get new innovative ag. business off the ground and profitable then, ship bike to Santiago thru workmates business - ride with Argentine friend to Terra Del Fuego. Ride back to San Juan Argentina, help friend with business for 2+ weeks, load bike back in container. Done.

Adam, already have the compound: apparently the Polygamist Compound idea that I had isn't working out too well.

Work related, I'd like to have a profitable little company where I manufacture something and never have to work for anyone ever again. Family related, I want to live long enough to see my daughter hit some of those big life milestones. More personal things, I'd like to travel across the Aleutian islands and maybe make my way into eastern Russia. In retirement, I'd also like to have a rad mountain spread in the middle of nowhere and practice some self-sustaining living techniques until it's no fun anymore, then move to the big island and eat avacados and mangos until I die.

Dreams

I had dreams when i was young but then they were dashed when the kids arrived !
Seriously all my dreams I have achieved and them some through hard work and perseverance.:afm199:afm199:afm199

There's your retirement job. :thumbup

I tried my hand at surfing a number of years ago. Wasn't good at it but I really liked just being out in the water, chilling out in nature. One day, long story short, I got freaked out...panicky.

Ever since then I am easily panicked when in the ocean (it's just so big, what if you got sucked out to sea!). I'd really love to face and manage that fear one of these days so I can go back to sitting on my board, floating, surrounded by ocean.

Also, I want to visit Cuba.

Old and have done much of what I have wanted to do in life. Got real lucky over 37 years ago and found the right woman.

One big trip I want to do is drive to Alaska in with my Four Wheel Camper. At least 2 months, retired and still to busy to take that much time.

Smaller trip is ride the K1600 to the east coast before the daughter moves from Baltimore. Maybe next summer.
