Mach 3 razors would tear my neck up. With or against didnt matter. I switched to shaving with a safety razor and no break outs. I go against the grain on my face and with on my neck, no probs. Then I only shave like once a month. Usually just buzz with clippers on zero (no attachment) couple times a week and I'm good.
