Do people judge riders/bikes by their chicken strips?

no but there is a corollary between chicken strips, talking about it on the internet and the desire to be fellated.

Well, we all want to be fellated...but I suspect that those who perseverate on their chicken strips (or lack therof) may be diminishing their own odds. :laughing

Far too many variables to judge a rider by chicken strips. Maintenance, suspension setup, riding style and the rider's self-presentation (Rossi wannabe? :thumbdown Calm cool and collected? :thumbup) are all factors. Just as an example--I have a freaking Nighthawk 750 that had no chicken strips on the rear on my last set of tires. Do I rail on it? No way. The strips are gone from parking lot practice.

Let the strips go...free your mind, and ride your ride. Other riders are going to find some damn excuse to look down at you, guaranteed. Throw 'em the :shocker and ride on into the sunset at your own pace.

Is there a thread with definitions of the lingo on here?

Chicken strips? I'm a newbie, do I have them? If I do, do I want them? Or are they embarrassing? Is it like zits on your ass?

and WTF is a squid? What does that mean? Do riders shoot ink from their butts?
Wait WTF does WTF mean again?

I have chicken strips, and I'm proud of them.

I'm working on getting smooth, not fast. I don't care about lean angle and I don't care about speed. I care about feeling good in the corner, once I can do that consistently the speed and the lean angles will happen on their own.

The only thing I look for on my tires are punctures, air pressure and how much tread I have left.

Damn! Dude is moments away from a lotta pain and hurt feelings

I haven't bothered reading this (whole) thread but......

isn't the objective to position yer body in such a fashion that your tire has maximum foot-print/adhesion, with as little motorcycle lean as possible?

I've actually noticed that REAL "hoons", FAST riders through the turns/corners/sweepers, use less body dramatics than squids trying to 'look' the part. I've also been told that thin (or lack of) chicken strips can actually be an indicator of poor riding mechanics (on the street).

If ya ride the street.... thin chicken strips is nothing about which to brag. If after a day of "hang'n off" at the track your tires are blue, balling up, and sans strips..... I'd say the rider had fun, Fun, FUN!

In short, "chicken strips" can and can not be an indicator of nothing or everything, or right or wrong tire size, or the mechanics/geometry of that particular bike, or tire pressure, skilled rider or wannabe squid.

I won't judge.

wow I cant believe there is 12 page thread of chicken strips..

no chicken strips means you are a skilled rider or your a crazy rider.

I leave a 1 inch strip.. 1''=drag knee 1/2'' = drag elbows.. :wtf
