• There has been a recent cluster of spammers accessing BARFer accounts and posting spam. To safeguard your account, please consider changing your password. It would be even better to take the additional step of enabling 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) on your BARF account. Read more here.

Do you have a Sbcglobal, Pacbell, ATT, or Hotmail / Outlook email? Read this.

Update, AOL addresses are apparently working now.

This may be fixed.

Please test it out.

I tried to recover my password, but nothing showed up.

Note, this works on the new forums.

I have an sbcglobal address.

Tried to test by changing email address to ATT, then sending myself a PM. But I can't change the address:

I think you were banned since its known you often use data, facts and so forth in your posts. That just won't do.

Sorry Dan. That was my fault. Please try again.

Thanks.

This is the test: Send myself a PM and look for email notification.

I tried it with my Yahoo email address and did receive notification.

I changed my BARF email address to my ATT address and retried the test. I did not receive notification, and I did check spam.

Thanks. ATT is apparently still blocking us.

As previously noted, BARF will probably have to switch to an established mail service to fix this. Yeah it sucks.

Well, also I found it worked with the new beta forum, so I don't know what service they're using.

Is this still an issue? I fixed it for my own mail server by creating a free account at mailjet.com and relaying through that for the offending providers. I had noticed that even gmail was becoming more finicky about accepting mail from us little guys.

Former unhappy AT&T customer now happy

Upon coming across this topic, I'm so glad I dropped AT&T a while back. They became immensely difficult to deal with whenever any access issue came up. Each call to customer service resulted in different "solutions" of which wouldn't work. Having a VPN made for a non-starter to log on to email or into my account to pay the bill. Ridiculous!!! Even after disconnecting my VPN, their system would still think I was a bad actor trying to gain access and run me in circles of alternate ways to gain access and/or change my password. Yes, so So SO glad I dropped AT&T. When a company puts in so many safety guardrails that using what they sell becomes unreasonably difficult, then it's way past time to leave them behind.
