I have a 500cc scooter and I do love to ride it :ride. However I do kind of feel like a nerd sometimes because it is still just a scooter. I'm a pretty sensative guy, maybe too mutch so. Most people give me compliments on it but a few of my buddies tease me a little about it. I have gotten numerous compliments on it from cagers at stop lights. This almost never happens with my Versys.

I was lookin at the stats of a HD Iron 885 (an awsome badass looking bike) and my scooter actually has simulsr horse power and would probably spank it in the twisties. But my scooter is still a scooter not a badass Harley.

I really do love my scooter and plan on taking to the twisties soon for the first time. Am I a nerd? :nerd

Its a piaggio x9 500 for the record.:)

No.

Ride your scooter and forget about it.

Embrace your inner nerd. :nerd

As long as you love it it's all good, anyone who bashes you for having a scooter isn't your friend anyways.

I would never do that :twofinger.

Then you're not a nerd.....
My scooter.

Just make sure you pass any Sportsters you happen upon. Then ask them if their bike is running ok.

You're going to need a bigger, longer scooter and a little dog to get the ladies.

I rode a 40 year old 175 cc honda for the last 2 years and put close to 10K miles on it and got a kick out of it. It probably has about the same or less power than some of these scooters out there. I recently sold it and now commute on a motard... alot more fun, but alot more expensive...

Oh, I guess I failed to bring up that I also have a 999r and a 996 (that I do take to the track, unlike most ducati owners) , so I guess the geek in me sometimes does escape.... I just love anything on 2 wheels....

So I guess maybe I would be classified as a geek rather than a nerd...
