yes please
so if you had to pick from these two 2010 model. which one would be your pick? I like them both but I think the MV might be the better
street/track bike to have. Sure sure the MV looks the best but love the sound of the Duc

Get the Ducati. The MV is an old design and the updates for 2010 aren't that great. It is still placing last in all the magazine tests.

To elaborate... F4 has 16HP more but weights 51Lbs more too. 1198s has fully adjustable Öhlins, F4 has Sachs (who, what?) - I tried a 2008 F4, great bike but man, the 1198 is a different beast and I agree... the SOUND on the 1198 is just amazing!! Even with stock pipes!

P.s.
2010 1198s retails for $21,795
2010 F4 should be $18,500

MV probably doesn't buy enough advertising to place better in the magazine tests.

The engine, chassis and the swingarm are brand new. The reengineered design which has resulted in a motorcycle that is 4 cm narrower, has a chassis that offers increased torsional rigidity while at the same time reducing the overall weight by 10 kg (22 lbs). The F4 is the absolute reference for the supersport category with its advanced technical solutions and its extraordinary performance.

The new MV Agusta F4 boasts a complete redesign, with a new engine and chassis.

Harley knows a lot about manufacturing efficiently. There were huge improvements in efficiency at MV. The HD Credit line helped get access to better components, like Brembo monobloc (no more nissin calipers) additionally, the price dropped significantly.

MV hands down - and I'm not biased!

what will be easiest to find parts for or have service done?
which will net you the most chicks?

you really cant make a bad decision in this instance. i hope i have to make difficult decisions like these.

well I'm still thinking but it is hard to pick from the two. MV = looks and
Duc. = killer sound so very hard to pick from the two. As for parts, I think the Duc is easier to find part as I believe more riders ride Duc. than MV but not sure about that.

Yeah, I believe MV is still too "exotic" in the US...

Fuck it, get the mv and stuff an 1198 engine in there somehow and own the world. MV is sexier, but neither is a bad choice. It's like banging two super model sluts! they will both make you explode.

If you're going to buy an impractical overpriced exotic, why buy the one that you can find at practically any Starbucks? Between the two, I'd go for the F4.

But if it was me, I'd man up, break out the tools, and buy a Benelli.

The primary factors in your buying decision are looks and sound?

Have you actually ridden either one?

doesn't matter, you just need to get to *$'s. Luckily there are usually 3 for every square mile....:ride:teeth

good luck on the purchase...but if you can't decide, perhaps look at the resale side. Which one is easier, and holds better value?:nerd

buying either of those bikes is a purely emotional decision. If you can't decide, you dont like either of them enough. Btw, M. Tamburini pretty much designed the F4 that morphed into the 2010 model, and also designed the 916, which the 1198 really looks similar to.

Tamburini's F4 tail section was originally gonna go on the ducati sbk, but he left ducati so thats why MV has it. I think the round tail pipes on the F4 looked better than the weird square ones. Cyclops headlight is a deal breaker for me too.

My vote? Wait until 2012 when Ducati drops their new sbk, there will be no contest.

Do you have an opinion on inline-four versus V-twin?

Personally, I don't like how inline-fours (or threes) feel in the midrange, but love the feel of a V-twin. A couple of years ago I took a test ride on a Triumph Sprint ST 1050 three cylinder out at Tri-Valley Moto. I liked the handling of the bike and felt that it had enough power, but something was missing in how the engine felt. When I got back I asked if the KTM 990 Adventure was also available for a test ride and they let me take that out too. As soon as I pulled away from the dealership, my first thought was "now that's a good powerband".

It took me two years, but now I own that very bike. It doesn't feel like a Ducati engine because it's a 75 degree V-twin rather than 90 degrees, but it still has power that I like, even if it is a bit rougher.

I would encourage you to base your decision on the engine power characteristics, since you can't seem to decide otherwise.
